According to the latest Quinnipiac poll, Obama is not faring to greatly. His ratings are not terrible, but he faces the wrath of an electorate suffering heavily from the faltering economy and that oppose ObamaCare.
When asked a variety of questions, voters were almost evenly split on Obama and his Administration.
Does Obama deserve re-election?
Yes: 45% No: 46% Dk/unsure: 9%
Obama Approval Rating
Approve: 47% Disapprove: 48% Dk/unsure: 5%

If he can’t win OH, he won’t win IN, NC, VA either.
In other words, he’s quite beatable. IF the GOP candidate is halfway decent.
I’m in the blue part of Ohio. I know people who actually admit they voted for Obama. They weren’t rabid supporters, they just couldn’t vote for the 100 year old, faltering, McCain. The situation for Obama isn’t that bad with these people.
What I’ve figured out, talking to these folks is that they are sure Obama sucks. They would say he doesn’t deserve to be re-elected. HOWEVER, they can’t think of a Republican they’d vote for. And, sorry Palinistas, but these people would rather vote for anyone before they’d vote Palin.
The GOP has some hard work to do in order to get these people. They are swing voters.
“His ratings are not terrible?”......
Hah!....just wait!
I’d vote for a dog on roller skates before him!
They are swing morons.
Sen. Sherrod Brown, who also faces re-election in 2012, is in better shape with Ohio registered voters, who prefer Brown over an unnamed GOP challenger 45 - 29 percent. Voters also say 45 - 30 percent that he deserves a second term in the U.S. Senate.
The Dayton Daily News, in the southwestern part of the state, is spinning this as a near landslide re-election victory for Obama.
Those sound like the kind of people who stay home come electin day when they do not support either candidate. Like a lot of GOP voters did in 2008.
Besides, when they are paying $5-6 per gallon for gasoline and have seen all the ads explaining how it is Obama’s fault, they are going to pull the lever for just about anyone other than Obama. Just like a lot of swing voters were ready for anyone but Bush, which is how we ended up with Hussein.
This is better news than it may seem. Ohio in the last decade lost a seat in congress. Those that want to work (tend to vote conservative) have left the state to look for employment, leaving a higher percentage of liberals in the state. A greater percentage of liberals/independents are showing their disapproval.
ALL polls are propaganda...or disinformation..
Based on the 2010 midterm election results, Obama couldn't get elected to dogcatcher in Indiana.
Obama will lose Ohio, NC, Virginia, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada and possibly Michigan and Wisconsin as well.
He’s in huge electoral trouble. Under essentially any plausible scenario, he needs two of the three to gain 270 electoral votes: Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania. This is why the White House went for broke in the gubernatorial races in Ohio and Florida last year. Happily, they lost both.
Independents disapprove of Obama by 50-42. Republicans by 88-11. So how does Obama get an approval rating of 47? Simple, you just poll a lot more democrats in a state that just voted overwhelmingly republican.
He’s in real trouble in the upper Midwest. WI should be included too along with MI. Both states went completely red last November.
It could be an electoral landslide.
This looks like a registered voter poll and not a likely voter poll. Knock about 5-8% off of Barak Hussein Obama’s numbers for the real poll. If the demonRATs are real excited about a candidate, they get closer to the RV numbers, but they are not enthused about him, and won’t be in 2012 either, so their under-performance with RV’s will be anywhere from 5-8%, IMHO.
These people you speak of are not swing voters. They are the scum of the earth liberals who have polluted Ohio for years. Where you live in Cleveland is also the most liberal part of the state. Thank God you were able to see the light.
“Besides, when they are paying $5-6 per gallon for gasoline and have seen all the ads explaining how it is Obamas fault, ...”
I have doubts that will happen. The GOP still wants the media to love them. And direct attacks on BHO are still considered racist.
“Where you live in Cleveland is also the most liberal part of the state.”
Actually, I’m in a suburb of Akron. But, there are still lots of old line Democrats here. A college education before the colleges became liberal indoctrination centers, with the associated critical thinking skills are what saved me.
