Another Look at Obama’s Social Security Number
Cashill.com ^ | 3-17-11 | Jack Cashill

While out promoting my new book, “Deconstructing Obama,” I have been asked a few times about Obama’s mysterious Social Security number.

Not knowing enough to speak authoritatively, I chose to swim upstream through the data flood and head for the source.

Here I found a no-nonsense licensed investigator from Ohio named Susan Daniels. Widowed at 30 with seven children, Daniels went back to school and eventually emerged as a certified paralegal.

After several years working for others, Daniels got her own license as an investigator in 1995. Since then, she has specialized in litigation support for law firms. Her particular strength has been in researching assets.

By her own admission, Daniels is “good with public records.” She knows her way around databases and has access to many that the public does not.

“I did not like the way things were going,” Daniels says of the country’s drift circa 2009. And so in the best spirit of citizen journalism, she began to investigate Obama on her own.

What she and fellow investigator Neil Sankey unearthed was a nugget that could have ended the career of a George Bush or a Sarah Plain: Barack Obama had been using a social security number issued in Connecticut between 1977 and 1979, a state in which he never lived or even visited at that time in his life.

This will not come as news to the readers of WorldNetDaily, whose thorough investigation climaxed last June when WND’s veteran White House correspondent Les Kinsolving confronted Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs on the subject.

Predictably, Gibbs laughed Kinsolving off and switched the subject to the birth certificate. Kinsolving had seen this kind of laugh and switch before. In 1982, for instance, he introduced the subject of AIDS to then press secretary Larry Speakes.

“Over a third of [the victims] have died,” said Kinsolving. “It’s known as ‘gay plague.’”

“I don’t have it. Do you?” joked Speakes to a general round of laughter. But unlike Gibbs, Speakes simply did not know any better.

As much as Daniels appreciates the work of WND and other serious investigators who have helped clarify the picture, she is distressed by the few who have clouded it.

“There have been many playing junior investigator from the start,” she jokes. “I don't know if they even have their decoder rings yet.”

This being the case, I asked Daniels to guide me through the data mine field and help me ascertain what we know for sure about the world’s best-known social security number--042-68-4425.

“All I can say,” says Daniels of 042-68-4425, “is that it’s phony and [Obama] has been using it, with it first appearing on his selective service document in 1980.”

Daniels sent me a copy of the hand-written application of the individual who held the number immediately before Obama’s, 042-68-4424. The applicant, Thomas Wood, died at age nineteen which is why his information is available.

Wood's Social Security number was issued sometime between March and May of 1977. Obama would turn sixteen in August of that year. Woods lived on Glenview Drive in Newington, Connecticut, the state from which all “042s” applied. Obama lived in Hawaii.

True to form, the left-leaning media set out to undermine the Social Security controversy and ridicule the investigators. Revealing, however, is the weakness of the response.

“Numbers are assigned based on the return address on the request envelope, not residency,” crowed Jason Linkins in the Huffington Post as though he had said something meaningful. Linkins suggested two possible explanations, both preposterous.

One is that Obama applied for his SSN as a little boy in Indonesia for no known reason, and the application just happened to be processed in Connecticut for no known reason either.

For the second, Jinkins cited the argument of Carole Glibert, in the Yahoo-related “Associated Content.” Said Gilbert, presumably with a straight face, “In fact, Barack Obama's dad attended college in Connecticut and in 1977, Obama was college aged; is it beyond reason to consider that he might have checked out his father's alma mater?”

Last time I checked, Harvard was in Massachusetts. The closest town to Harvard in Connecticut is about 90 minutes away, and there is no record that Obama Sr. lived there, let alone that Obama visited his imaginary alma mater and just happened to apply for a Social Security card while visiting.

Daniels also sent me a copy of Obama’s Selective Service data. Obama appears to have registered on September 4, 1980, a month after his nineteenth birthday. The form lists the telling last four digits of his “042” number, “4425.”

This is the first use of the “042” number that Daniels could find. She is just not sure it is legitimate. Some have credibly argued that the Selective Service information was forged and backdated once Obama became a presidential candidate.

“They were stupid to use the CT number on the [Selective Service] card,” Daniels adds, “because now there is no way for [Obama] to back out of that number.”

You keep referring to Colonel Hollister’s “history” as if there were proof that he has a history of untruthfullness. I don’t think you have cited a single example to support this assertion. Do you have any proof of this insertion or is it, as it appears to be, an unsupported smear?

Are you stupid, ignorant or just a liar? She has posted the information from an accredited verification service that has contracts with hundreds of Colleges. It shows Obama atteding Columbia from 9/1/82 until 5/31/83 and receiving a BA in 1983, major studies BS err Political Science (same thing) Which part of that do you accept and which part do you reject?

The start date. Columbia says he started in 1981. I'll take a statement straight from the horse's mouth over a hearsay from a third party any day.

If the 2 digit year is the best you've got, then you've got squat.

*****

Speaking of squat: If the best you got is that the reason Obama has an O42 Connecticut Social Security number is that way back in 1977 an anonymous clerk in the Social Security Baltimore, Maryland main processing center may have mistyped Obama's zip code by mistyping a Connecticut 0 instead of a Hawaii 9 because the two digits are next to each other on a typewriter and/or a computer keyboard, then I say that you also have squat. Deep, deep, squat.

I also say this: If a present or former Social Security worker in the Baltimore, Maryland center ever comes forward and says that clerks in the center did not use keyboards or typewriters to insert zip codes to a person's application form and that Social Security had safeguards in place to protect Social Security from Obama-type mistakes, then your 0 for 9 theory is not only implausible, it is dead in the water before it even leaves the dock.

Okay, so what's your theory as to why his SSN starts with 042?

Theories aside, it is a fact that Obama is spending a considerable amount of time, money, and judicial system resources from having to disclose what most if not all presidential candidates have.

You can make all the bs theories and excuses you want. Further, Obama by his unconstitutional actions seems to be drumming up further support for the obvious. He is not an American. Not by heart at least.

There is no evidence that someone typed a zero instead of a 9. Just your theory, a very illogical one at that given there is no evidence suggesting it ever happened anywhere.

It is more logical to assume Obama is hiding something by his actions and numerous ambiguities in his background. .

But then it seems that to you logic can only describe a path of reasoning that supports your own preliminary conclusions. To you all of the crazy oddities are mutually exclusive. To the normal mind they say where there is smoke there is fire.

LOL. So data entry clerks never make mistakes. Go it.

Okay, so tell me, how is having a social security number that begins with 042 evidence he is hiding something.

That is simply not true.

You have no proof or evidence that SS administrators make mistakes. It is just your theory. My theory is that they could have been the first double 6 sigma shop making this impossible to replace a zero with a nine or nine with a zero. My theory has as much substantiation and facts as yours does.

By numerous ambiguities, I am referring to all the different stories and theories about his background and near complete lack of disclosure compared to any of his contemporaries.

Not just limited to birth records, but school records, financial records, health records, state department records, law license records, publishings (besides 2 autobios without footnotes), scholarly articles, etc.....all of these items Obama has the power to disclose yet he choses not to even though his peers invariably do to a much higher degree.

Obama could for example instead of spending money to hide his record in front of a judge, spend that money instead to find out how or what went wrong at the SS administration so as to unite the people around his legitimacy. Instead he uses it to mock his opponents and make jokes at state dinners and further divide us as a country.

Whatever your theory or facts, majority opinion showed in November and will again in 2012 that Obama is not a leader. You can fool people once will be the theme. The issue is already shifting from “why are you a crazy birther” to “what is this guy hiding”. Your denial of this truth will not change that fact and will only be exacerbated by Obama’s continued failure to keep any of his campaign promises raising everyone’s doubts about who he is or what he really stands for. The lack of conviction is unprecedented and historical.

I didn’t say what I thought. I made a point that my theory in fact has as much basis as yours does. As others have pointed out you confuse your assumptions for logic. One has nothing to do with the other.

When I was in the service, we used OCR for personnel management on a daily basis. IBM Selectric typewriter with an OCR ball, special forms that HAD to done a certain way, without mistakes, else the form would not be read by the OCR scanner for input into the computer system. In 1976. I have to think that, since this the USMC, who got the last of the latest, that SSA probably had something similar, or most likely, better. This same OCR was used for supply, finance and other areas of the Marine Corps. Oops, OCR is Optical Character Recognition.

I'm not buying the transposed numeral idea due to the fact that checking for mistakes is second nature to anyone that used OCR on a daily basis, and, unless a complete noob, would most likely know which state which zip code belonged in.

Of course, if they didn't use OCR at SSA, then the above is moot.

Never underestimate the stupidity of government bureaucrats, especially those engaged in repetetive, mind-numbing tasks such as data entry.
