Why is it so difficult for some conservatives to accept the idea that the left is hellbent on destroying America as we know it? Its not like its a far-out conspiracy theory. Its a well documented ongoing process. These people have been at it for decades. The Cloward-Piven Strategy, which is one piece of the subversive puzzle, is real. Weve proven it here at NewsReal and Ive proven it in my upcoming book Subversion Inc. Since the culturally catastrophic 1960s elements within the left have been more or less open about their movements desire to overthrow the American system of government and capitalism its not a secret. Read a Noam Chomsky book if you can do so without throwing up and feel the anti-American venom leap right off the page and splash you in the face.
Yet Bill OReilly and the more libertarian John Stossel dont think that malice lurks in the hearts of American leftists. Courtesy of my favorite clipping service, Media Matters for America (their motto might as well be We clip everything cool that conservatives say on TV and radio.), heres a discussion OReilly and Stossel had on Fox News last night:
In the clip above OReilly bashes conservative talk radio for accusing the left of malice and Stossel just shrugs and says leftists just like spending other peoples money too much. Move on: Nothing to see here, folks. Why the assumption of good faith? Are they afraid to call out people who hate America because it might be impolite? Is it Polite Company Conservative syndrome? (See a great piece by the coiner of the phrase Tunku Varadarajan.)
A more egregious offender is Michael Medved who stridently denounces his fellow conservatives for questioning the intentions of leftists.

There are no conservatives who think that.
Preposterous.
I view Liberals the same way I view Jihadist Muslims and drug cartels.
The enemy.
Maybe their mother’s taught them to try to see the good in people.
PS - Bill O’Reilly is NOT a conservative.
If any one needs an extra apostrophe, I’ve got one in my previous post.
Television is a "cool" medium, remember? Brutal honesty doesn't work well on TV. Of course, another factor is that, when people sit down to watch TV, they want to escape reality. Projecting reality on TV, especially about people who want to kill you, your family, your way of life, and your country, is just too upsetting.
It’s a form of denial. Also it’s easier to attribute to incompetance what is probably in truth completely deliberate.
Sheep watching O TV - getting brainwashed daily in between dumb white men TV commercials on how great Mugabe is.
Keep watching - Fox is no better.
Will John Boehner ever figure this out? He seems hellbent on compromising and enabling more legislative trickery by his Dem pals.
Excellent question. Note to everyone: They aren’t. Period. Obama is a Muslim; of that I am convinced and a stinking liar to boot. End of story.
“Projecting reality on TV, especially about people who want to kill you, your family, your way of life, and your country, is just too upsetting.”
Good post. People want TV to take them to a ‘happy place’. It’s like junk food for the mind. Any unpleasantness that intrudes into the family room will be met with a swift click on the remote.
O’Reillly, Beck, Coulter, Medved, Hewitt, Boortz, Ingraham and a few others are anti-birthers. Stooges for Fox Al Waleed TV.
RINO’s?? No real conservative that I know thinks this.
You have to sift through those things you want to believe to see which are supported by evidence and which aren't -- what's really likely to be true and what isn't. Some of the things one dreams up certainly may be true. Others not so much.
Sarc/off
Seriously, do you think anyone who is going to ask the tough questions is going to be allowed on TV?
Good question. They’re crooks.
I would never accuse O’Reilly of being conservative or acting in good faith.
As for Medved, I haven’t paid much attention to him since I heard him say “films are nourishing”. Don’t wanna listen to anyone who might make be barf at any moment.
