Freeper Rotorcraft Pilots...

Kaman has been working on an UAV version of the KMax and their is a fire / water delivery version of it.

Can American ingenuity combine the 2 and get a few to Japan to help cool the Reactors ASAP?

Do we as a Nation "Still Have it"?

I look forard to your responses....

Don’t we already have some pretty impressive firefighting aircraft, including choppers that could do the job at hand without having to re-engineer/modify something?

I am sure we do, I am thinking can we limit radiation exposure via a UAV if you will....

It would be a good test. Are the avionics EMP hardened? If not they may have problems.

Actually, I think there is a west coast company using WW2 era Martin flying boats as water bombers.

That may be something to consider.

You may be mistaking Electro Magnetic Pulse, EMP, with nuclear radiation.

They are different. EMP occurs when there is a nuclear detonation as well as during lightening storms. Nuclear radiation is the decay from unstable atoms.

Why bother?

We already have a proven system in Fire Scout. Use it to drop boron impregnated lead balls into the reactor.

What it takes is a brave man... Anyone heard of Anatoly Ghrischenko... He's the man lying in the hospital bed. He flew load after load of barium and lead salts over the Chernobyl reactor - which was totally exposed. What the Japanese need now are electricity, pipes, pumps, and brave men. The workers who have volunteered to stay behind know that death from radiation induced leukemia complications will probably be their fate.
