I say turnabout is fair play. The states need to tell the Obama thugs that if they don’t give x, y, and z, they will pass the eligibility bill. Document the bribery and come out with it when the doo-doo finally hits the fan.
I said it on my blog, but since looking at Judge Leon’s decision in the Strunk case I really think we’re on our own. We may not WANT to let the eligibility case get to a legal decision by a judge until after Obama is out of office, when the judges will be free to give a right decision.
Until then, if we want adherence to the Constitution for the 2012 election, I think we have to go with ballot initiatives. In Nebraska a ballot initiative that passes in the 2012 election in November would go into effect in mid-December at the latest. I’m thinking something like this would be good:
Any registered Nebraska voter shall have legal standing to challenge in expedited state court proceedings the legal eligibility of any candidate on the Nebraska ballot, provided that the legal challenge is filed before the beginning of the term of office the candidate is seeking through placement on that ballot. Such standing shall allow discovery of birth and citizenship records where applicable, as well as transaction logs and complete vital records history to verify genuineness of records. No ineligible candidate may receive an electoral vote from Nebraska.
I don’t have time to try to remember everybody to ping, but if people could ping their lists that would be great. The sooner I get input or suggestions for how to go about this, the sooner I (or somebody else) can get started on this. In Nebraska there have to be signatures from every county, a certain percentage. So this would involve finding people who can get signatures from each county. I’m in Saline County so I could do some gathering around here, but I’d need a LOT of help to do this. We’ll have the media against us so it’ll have to be word of mouth, social networking, etc - which I am a total moron about.
Somebody tell me what to do. =) I won’t be able to respond right away, but I will listen to everything you say.
You had done some research on different states’ ballot initiative requirements. Is there a state that would be better than Nebraska to pass a ballot initiative like the one in the post I’m responding to?
Right now we have a King Ahaz occupying the Whit-Hut. We need to pray for a "new" Hessakiah to clean out the cesspool of evil in Washington D.C. alias "District of Corruption!!!
