Don’t you know it’s my birthday? There’s supposed to be some happy news to lighten my evening. But no, instead I learned that Wisconsin Rethuglicans made an end run to approve their governor’s union-busting bill.

Phil Neuenfeldt, president of the state AFL-CIO, said Wednesday night’s maneuver “shows that Scott Walker and the Republicans have been lying throughout this entire process.”

“None of the provisions that attacked workers’ rights had anything to do with the budget,” Neuenfeldt said. “Losing badly in the court of public opinion and failing to break the Democratic senators’ principled stand, Scott Walker and the GOP have eviscerated both the letter and the spirit of the law and our democratic process to ram through their payback to their deep-pocketed friends.”

This is what happens when we weaken labor the rich have free rein to milk the middle-class even further.

Who I DO blame are the a—holes in teh previous threads on this and who will inevitably show up who SUPPORTED this because “DEM Public EMPLOyEEZ IS LIVING OFF THE PUBLIC TEET! I IZ A TAX PAYER UNION IZ BAD!” You f-cking g-d d-mn stupid petty spiteful m-ther f-ckers are to blame. Every single one of you should be smacked with a dead badger until your d-mn eyes cross. You stupid malfunctioned barely literate ogres are gleefully skipping with the greedy pr-cks down the meadow of “eat my a— out poor people”. .... I really miss those hard-core communist-run unions I belonged to. Maybe it’s time to break out the black balaclavas and go visit the local branch of the Republican party, stopping at a building site along the way to pick up a 4X2, a chunk of reeo bar and a brick or 15.

If every Republican congresscritter or senator’s office in the U.S. had its window smashed tonight, they wouldn’t have to be psychic to know that someone was p-ssed off.

I have a horrible and persistent sense of destiny about this moment even though I know that 99.999999% of the time such feelings are nonsense. I so totally want the workers in Wisconsin to win this one, and win it hard.

This is a defining moment. If the Republicans get away with this, it indicates that we, as a society and a country, are royally f-cked with the king’s pekingese while hung upside down by balloons.

And I’m not sure what we can do, with the rest of the country (what I believe without evidence is the majority of the country) either caving with a distasteful sense of dread, or giving up out of a sense of helplessness. I’m not giving up, but I do feel so damned helpless.
