Utah Legislature Passes Package of Immigration Bills (Utah Passes Illegal Alien Amnesty Bill)
Deseret News ^ | 03-05-2011 | Stand With Arizona (Facebook)

The UT Legislature went collectively mad late last night, and passed an amnesty bill for illegal aliens. If Gov. Herbert joins the ranks of the insane and signs it, ANY illegal aliens AND THEIR FAMILIES who come to Utah by May 11th will be eligible to STAY there indefinitely, by merely getting a "permit". As one opponent said, it is "pure and simple amnesty". There will be hell to pay for this disgraceful act.

Utah also left in place the outrageous in-state tuition program for illegal aliens, and is creating a special guest worker program with a state in Mexico! If you live or work in Utah, our condolences. You now live in the biggest sanctuary state in America. Look out.

Isn’t this a Federal issue? Not sure if they can do that - there certainly should be a court challenge...

Good!

We Arizonans will be happy to send Utah our illegal aliens.

We'll even open an express lane at the Lees Ferry for you.

Seriously, is this for real?

We probably have some federal anti-slavery statutes we can use to clean this nest of Confederate throw-backs outta’ there.

When individual cities and/or states can make their own “national” laws this country no longer exists.

This is very interesting. Now I am waiting for the response by Mitt Romney and Huntsman, Jr.

Most of the drug problems we have in southeast
Idaho are traceable to Mexican drug gangs in
the Ogden, UT area.

Some folks are blaming the LDS for this, because they signed the "Utah Compact", which called for watered-down enforcement and amnesty: http://www.theutahcompact.com/

I believe you only get a court challenge from the Feds if you are trying to keep illegals out of the state to protect your own citizens. And, I wish I were kidding.

Does the Mormon faith believe in the tenet “the meek shall inherit the earth”?

Mormons are no longer the majority of the Salt Lake City population as of 2009, with an amnesty proposal such as this bill, they will lose majority status in the state in a generation.

If the commons is the tax base of the localities, counties and state of Utah, this bill will become the penultimate tragedy of the commons as the business interests who bought this legislation pass off their employee benefits costs onto the taxpayers social safety net while also whittling done the payscale across the bottom 80% of wage earners in the state.

Plainly put, it’s pure evil.

Well, the powers-that-be in Utah (the LDS church, the banks, the developers, and the utilities) are all behind the amnesty. It's a game of numbers and dollars for all involved. The church just plans on converting these poor lost souls...

Chapter 4: Vital Statistics

Tim B. Heaton

This article reviews available information about demographics of the LDS Church.

Membership projections based on the assumption that each area will continue to grow at the same rate observed between 1980 and 1989 indicate that geographic shifts may become even more dramatic. The membership in the United States, Canada, and Europe is growing at a relatively slow pace, such that their percentage would drop to 40 percent in the year 2000, to 22 percent in 2010, and to about 11 percent by 2020. Although the African membership is growing at a high rate (14 percent annually), it has such a small base that it would constitute less than 3 percent by 2020. Asia would grow to more than 13 percent of the membership by 2020. But the biggest gains would be in Mexico and Central and South America. Collectively, these areas would increase their share to 46 percent in 2000, to 62 percent in 2010, and to 71 percent in 2020
