Pack of “academic” scamsters grasping at straws. How much other funded research is basically just as illusory?

I suppose its better than having the same inquiring minds spending their intellectual efforts questioning Federal Constitutional failures...

I like Muller, and would suggest that anyone who can, listen to his podcast/lectures on Physics for Future Presidents. An EXCELLENT primer into advanced physics. I have listed through two years of his lectures, and I tell you, this guy, while not a conservative, is a closet quasi-skeptic. He spouts the party line, but listen carefully and you can hear his doubt. He is also Pro-Nuclear power, and has defended GWB’s pronunciation of “NuCUlar”. Not an easy thing to do at Berkley.

The wealth of data Rohde has collected so far – and some dates back to the 1700s – makes for what Muller believes is the most complete historical record of land temperatures ever compiled.

They are just analyzing surface data historical records, they aren't looking at ice or earth cores, satellite data, tree rings, balloon data....

They are only looking at a thin slice of data and they may very well find a warming trend. They will not even scratch the surface on why there is a trend. Is it part of a natural cycle? Changes in the sun, the earth, or perhaps as the liberals claim, caused by man?

trust me . . .

No thanks. We must look a lot dumber than we are.

We have a thermometer out on our deck. I can check the temp from inside the house. The other day, when I knew the temperature could not have exceeded about 40, the thermometer read 70! Can those data collection sites be any more accurate? I don’t think so...

Just by stating they have a goal they have proven they are not scientists. They are looking for an outcome and so their observations are all tainted.

This false worship of fake science is an evil thing. In the end it seems to only dupe people who have no understanding of math and science or left wing wackjobs that do not have an objective mind.

The math in the past data was manipulated
Independent critical scientific review was squashed
Peer review had/has an agenda
Scientists admitted to all of this
Water vapor is the #1 greenhouse gas
The Sun’s activity is the #1 influence on global tempratures
Natural cycles cause warming and cooling ... Not man
What men caused the end of the last ice age?

Limiting CO2 output is insane unless we start by killing commies, socialists, and liberals first and seeing how it works out. Otherwise I am against it in total since plants need CO2.

Open-sourcing the science sounds good, but Berkeley is literally the last place on earth where I would look for scientists who are capable of being “non-political, non-partisan.” In fact, those are exactly the words I would expect from hyper-political, hyper-partisan warmists attempting to disguise their leftist agenda.

they probably will troll through what has already been gathered by others.

Well, then it is already doomed to failure.

The East Anglia criminals and their co-conspirators, have already admitted that they have destroyed or lost thousands of original research data done by others over the last 50 years. It cannot be reconstructed since they arbitrarily deleted data that didn't fit the "proper" answer, and invented data to make the gaps fit as desired.

Under those circumstances, I fail to see how any group of scientists, competent or not, ethical or not, can arrive at the truth.

“This latest point is where Muller faces his most delicate challenge. To concede that climate sceptics raise fair criticisms means acknowledging that scientists and government agencies have got things wrong, or at least could do better. “

So his career will be toast if he comes up with the “wrong” answer.

Muller says that the earth has warmed 0.75 degrees Celsius, cor about 1.5 deg Fahrenheit since the 1700’s . To put this in perspective, we are two hundred years past a period referred to as “the mini- ace age”. Some warming trend. It’s hardly a reason to let a screaming claque of political radicals to push society into turning out the lights on Western Civilization.

“Just by stating they have a goal they have proven they are not scientists. They are looking for an outcome and so their observations are all tainted.”

Exactly right.

“Peer review had/has an agenda”

This is the worst part of it. Peer review has worked just fine in the past. When a real scientific researcher presented a “finding” that has far reaching consequences, his peers would put their “skeptic” hats on and tear into him. He had better be ready to show that he has looked into more mundane explanations of his findings. If he’s convincing and reputable enough, and if he’s lucky, other scientists would repeat his research in an effort to disprove it, rather than just dismiss him offhand as just another hot dog. Occasionally, he’ll be right and become a hero. But the more earth shaking a researcher’s findings, the more likely that the skeptics will find something wrong with his work.

The Global Warming crowd is the modern day Inquisition. Skeptics, who have always been the policemen of real science, are now burned at the stake by the politicized junk scientists.

Richard Muller of the Berkeley Earth project is convinced his approach will lead to a better assessment of how much the world is warming.

I really really have no respect for incompetent reporting. The above is the caption under Dr. Mullers photo from the link.

The world-wide controversy has never been about whether the world is warming, or even by how much.
It has been about the role civilization, specifically industrialized advanced countries, contribute to it.

Can any normal person clearly see that in the headline? Or is perhaps a substantial naked bias showing?

Dr. Muller, a most respected scientist and teacher is, by association, suggested by the writer to be aiming at supporting the Great Global Climate Conspiracy.

I suspect the Global Hysterics are in for a huge surprise.
Much more on this later.

I smell a set up. Anthropogenic global warming is an unfalsifiable hypothesis anyway.

Well, what are the odds that a Berkeley leftist will not find that there is global warming, and that it is caused by man? Pretty much zero.

Socialists must get control of industry. They still hope against hope that they can persuade people, using a new “independent” source, that AGW is a problem and we can solve it, if only we take control of EVERYTHING. All carbon emitters. All life forms. All industry. It’s the ultimate in tyranny.

Yes, this new “independent” investigation will find that AGW is real and it is a threat, and we can solve it by taking control of EVERYTHING. Trust us.
