On MSNBCs Morning Joe this morning, host Joe Scarborough delivered a scathing rant against Glenn Beck. According to Scarborough, Beck is losing it before our eyes and is bad for the conservative movement.
Hes bad for the Republican party. Hes bad for Fox News. Its that simple, Scarborough said, referring specifically to Becks recent work to uncover the socialists, progressives, and unions to the unrest in Egypt and Wisconsin.
Guest commentator Pat Buchanan added that Republicans have a responsibility and a duty to make sure Beck isnt speaking for conservatives.
Scarborough refers to a recent blog post by conservative writer Peter Wehner calling Glenn, The most disturbing personality on cable television. I talk to Pete from time to time and have a good deal of respect for his analysis most of the time. I found his most recent posts on Glenn, however, to be pretty shallow. Its a popular sport to make dramatic denunciations of Beck themes without really engaging in a discussion of the arguments.
Ive been involved in mainstream conservative thought and politics for 25 years and I can assure you that Wehner and Scarborough are mounting a very weak case. Ive worked with many top conservative leaders and politicians. Glenn is about as thoughtful and sincere in his approach to political argument as anyone Ive met. The depth and range of discussion around the Mercury and Blaze offices is the most interesting and electrifying of any place Ive worked.

ADD TO YOUR LIST? Chicago SEIU Local Leaders Probed for Terror Links
Submitted by Carl Horowitz on Tue, 02/15/2011 - But Chicago’s Service Employees International Union Local 73 isn’t an everyday union. Last September 24, FBI agents raided residences in Illinois, Minnesota and Michigan of more than a dozen radical activists in an effort to connect them to the Hamas (Gaza and the West Bank) and FARC (Colombia) guerrilla movements. Two of the occupants were SEIU Local 73 chief steward and executive board member Joe Iosbaker and former local board member-steward Tom Burke. Neither they nor anyone else has been arrested. But as the case unfolds, questions have arisen over the extent of involvement, if any, by the Chicago-based radical network that nurtured President Obama’s political ambitions from the Nineties onward.

Was that also better in its original German from which most of his screed descends?
Thx!
Why am I not surprised that Scumbag Scarborough has joined the rest of the squishy, cowardly Republican old guard in denouncing Beck? Beck does the research and investigation mice like Scarborough are afraid to do, and clearly afraid to report on. Beck’s detailed and documented expose of the trillion dollar “carbon trading” scheme was as fine an example of true investigative reporting as I have ever seen. He named names and connected the dots. Simply outstanding.
Beck is a little goofy, a little bloated, and a lot of ham, but he’s on the side of right and good, and I sure am glad he’s on my side. Obviously, Beck is hitting a nerve with a whole lot of scumbags.
You welcome. Related: Labor Accountability Project, the report details the close relationships between union leaders and anti-war activists. Click here or on image at right to download 28-page pdf of Special Report.
The report analyzes the alliance between union activists and Communist-allied organizations such as Code Pink, A.N.S.W.E.R., and United for Peace and Justice as the culmination of a process that began more than 30 years ago. Whereas organized labor, under the leadership of AFL-CIO President George Meany (1955-79) and Lane Kirkland (1979-95) promoted liberal anti-Communism, federation President John Sweeney has virtually ratified an embrace of anti-Americanism.
The paper introduces the reader to the tight and incestuous anti-war network that opposes U.S. interests, not just U.S. policy. Locals of such prominent unions as the Service Employees International Union, the Sheet Metal Workers and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers have joined the activities of the network.

The Report concludes that Congress should repeal the forced-dues collection clause contained in the National Labor Relations Act so that rank-and-file union members are not required to subsidize subversion.

Beck certainly has his quirks but I didn’t see many real refutations on part of Scarborough.
Beck’s antics aside, attacks sent his way are name calling and other alinskyisms - rarely does he gets proven wrong.
To all........ when did Scarborough go full fledge alinsky?
>As if Joey the MSNBC employee has the best interests of FNC in mind.<
Thats what my first thought was as well.
I wouldn’t watch MSNBC if it was the last news outlet in America. It is propaganda pure and simple. They don’t like the fact that all of their programming combined doesn’t get Beck’s market share.
Why would they tell Beck to do anything that is good for him?
