We checked out the results of several chili contests and were surprised to see that Hormel canned chili scored high in several of them, even winning one.

You just open a can of Hormel chili and heat it.

I think the canned stuff is all right for slathering on a hot dog but not to serve as real chili.

Here a recipe for some real stuff that almost as easy as heating up a can of chili and would win a Texas contest. Try it. It a real treat on a snowy winter day.

Skyline Chili is inded the best.

If you have Harris-Teeter Grocery Stores in your area check the Frozen food section for Skyline Chili products.

Back in the day, external applications of vanilla ice cream was my coolant of choice.

And this is enjoyable exactly how?...

Ingredients are above directions:

1 pound ground beef
1 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1 package of chili mix

I saw those ingredients.

The directions, however, call for the addition of chilies, tomatoes, tomato sauce, and beans but does not indicate how much of each should be added.

Gahhhh!

(The quote was from a Billy Crystal "Mahevelous" sketch with Willie and Frankie...)

Frankie: It's like the other day I was in my bathroom not doing nothing, just smelling the drain in the sink and I pulled down my pants, and then did this...and I grabbed one of those, uuuuh…

Willie: Double-edged disposable razors?

Frankie: Yeah! And I start shaving my hiney, you know?

Willie: Yeah?

Frankie: And let me tell you something, it got nicked up pretty good after about 20 minutes, so I ran into my, uuuuh…

Willie: Foyer?

Frankie: Yeah… and I squatted in bowl of juuuuuice....

Depends if you like spicy chili. I prefer very hot chili. That’s why i said omit it if you like mild. Dave’s is definitely not for the feint of heart.

Cumin is the one herb that I discovered which gives my chili the taste that I’m looking for. Also, I do not use beans. If I cook it for myself, I’ll add barley. Full of fiber and takes nothing away from the chili.
