KC McLawson works for a cafe near Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, and since the body-scan and patdown controversy last November, her boss has taken extraordinary measures to ensure the TSA knows of his displeasure.

“We have posted signs on our doors basically saying that they aren’t allowed to come into our business,” she says. “We have the right to refuse service to anyone.”

Banning TSA from a restaurant. Seems a little harsh, doesn’t it?

McLawson explains...

They should admit them, only after full body scans, and strip searches.

No, they do not need full body scans. However I would have the giant guy with Shatner on the Price Line commercials doing a COMPLETE, FULL BODY strip search of the male TSA agents and Helen Thomas doing the female ones.

Better yet, require body scans and patdowns before they can enter.

“We have the right to refuse service to anyone.”

I support that 100%. However, after the lunch-counter sit-ins from the 1950's, I think this idea is considered outmoded. Property owners/businessmen no longer seem to have this right. I have long maintained that the Civil Rights movement made us choose between property rights and Identity Politics, and this country chose badly.

I hope the tide has turned and that these people can continue to discriminate against the TSA. But I wouldn't hold my breath.

It would prohibit anyone with access to the scanned body images from photographing or disseminating the snapshots.

I guess this means I won't be able to defend my title of "Mr. November."

a. It's the same for everyone.
b. There is an allowance for "shrinkage."

You’re warped, but not warped enough. Helen Thomas needs to do all of them.

There are no female TSA officers. Just really ugly males that stood too close to the scanners and got thier private parts irradiated.

Here in Nevada the right to refuse service is still a strong right of property owners. The police will arrest you if you refuse to leave after being asked once. That said not sure it has ever been tested on large groups of minorities which TSA as a group is not. Unless duma$$ is now a protected class.

I own a business and have told people not to come back and the police have enforced this. They have even issued a trespass ticket to one.

I even have a sign on the door that says legal guns are ALLOWED. So far no one has left over that ;)

(state law in MN is if you don’t want guns in your business you must post a sign saying they are banned. I just wanted would be robbers to know what they are walking in to ;) )

"Banning TSA from a restaurant. Seems a little harsh, doesn’t it? "

Now they'll have to go back to sleeping at the departure gates, but at least they won't be so fat.

We even have the police on our side and they have helped us escort TSA agents out of our cafe.

Would love to have been a witness to THAT encounter.

I don't know if that anger isn't somewhat mis-directed.

Granted, there's no shortage of morons and thugs in TSA, but I'm sure there are others too. I can imagine a person who was of fairly low intellect, wanted to “do something in the war on terror” and, with that low intellect, reasoned out that TSA would be a good route. Then, one day, a couple of years into the job, he shows up and is told his job now consists of handling the ‘nads of strangers.

In this economy, he's going to be hard pressed to find another job, even one that pays about $29,000.

We probably shouldn't group them all together.
