When it comes to protests in 2011, I have a new term, one that is based on what USA House of Representative Paul Ryan, (R/WI) has called for his home state Wisconsins state capital, because of the state workers protests against a bill requiring them to help contribute to their pension and health care plans, Cairo has come to Madison, WI.
From the Drudgereport website, it has for these words: DAY OF RAGE HITS WISCONSIN. Now it seems that even terms that would only be seen or heard of in the Middle East, which has also seen Arab countries exploded in major protests as of late, have those very same words be put to use here in of all places, AMERICA.
IMHO, I thought I was transported back to my childhood, during the late 60′s, early 70′s, when it was the HIGHT of anti-Vietnam protests.

Fire those teachers ALL of them.
We’ll see this in cities all over America when the government can no longer pay its bills.
you are correct, it will be the Public Employees who riot, I have been saying this for over a year now, and it looks like things are beginning to unravel.
What i want to see is the day someone in the congress goes after all those federal pensions providing 70% of their last salary plus cost of living increases—even for the military—its too much. talk about cairo.
it’s ok for feds to strip away the benefits of seniors and the disabled but don’t you dare touch their pensions (and yes i do have a pension but it is a private company and only a pittance of my prior salaries and more sustainable).
Starting to look rather Greek in Madisonastan
The Governor of WI, God Bless him, he is fighting hard for fiscal sanity.
Welcome to America’s version of Greece, in Madison, WI.
“Fire those teachers ALL of them.”
Just the ones that spell it ‘HIGHT’
'Word' to the author. If you are going to misspell something, at least refrain from capitalizing it.
I suggest that the folks in Cairo had far better reasons for taking to the streets than the people in Madison do.
Good news, the word was changed to “period” as in the period of or era of.
The public sector unions are the new plantation owners and YOU the private sector taxpayers are in the field pickin the
cotton.
WI should serve as a warning to the rest of the country in regards to budget wars.
