I would say, that is Sen. Brown’s decision alone to make. Abuse such as he suffered leaves deep emotional scars, including a misplaced sense of guilt. For many victims, speaking openly about what happened to them is cathartic, even if it sometimes makes others uncomfortable.

It may be cathartic for him but very selfish. He could have talked about it to his wife or his therapist. Going on television and naming his step fathers clearly damages his mother and her judgement. Maybe he wants to hurt his mother. If so, he’s doing a good job.

What a crock. The public does not exist to assuage him. We are busy with our own lives. He can pay a therapist to listen to his carthases.

Public confessions are narcissistic.
