Liberals love to say conservatives are racist. It’s generally accepted by liberals that anyone who disagrees with Barack Obama does so only because of the President’s skin color.
Liberals, however, are apparently free to make any racist statement they wish, as evidenced by a particularly vile and racist screed penned by Chauncey DeVega of Alternet, who wrote:
In the immortal words of Megatron in Transformers: The Movie, Herman Cain’s speech at CPAC really is bad comedy. As you know, I find black garbage pail kids black conservatives fascinating not because of what they believe, but rather because of how they entertain and perform for their White Conservative masters
The phrase “black garbage pail kids” is posted exactly as it appears in the original post.
Imagine the outcry from Al Sharpton if the roles were reversed. No doubt, there would be calls for investigations and demands that the writer be fired. But since Cain is a black conservative, race hustlers like Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are conspicuously silent.
Ed Morrissey writes at Hot Air:
Having had to follow him (Cain) on stage at one event, I can personally attest to the sinking feeling that produces in speakers that have the unfortunate chance of that scheduling. Having spoken with Cain on a number of occasions, I can also attest to the fact that this man has no masters, white or otherwise. Herman sails by his own compass at all times, which is one of his most admirable qualities.
But DeVega was not finished. He went on to write:
In total, CPAC is a carnival and a roadshow for reactionary Conservatives. It is only fitting that in the great tradition of the freak show, the human zoo, the boardwalk, and the great midway world’s fairs of the 19th and 20th centuries, ...

BTW, in the original, the phrase "black garbage pail kids" was written then struck out with a line through it. That's the way DeVega wrote it.

To the writer....I find it much more facinating that so many blacks still belong to the party who owned their great great grand parents. It’s amazing how so few blacks know the true history of the democratic party.Never forget the republican party before it decdied on that name was the anti slavery party and our first republican president was Lincoln.

I think Joe writes AS the Spokane Conservative Examiner, so it really shouldn’t matter.
I’ve had other complaints from their authors, so the whole thing goes on excerpt only. Either that or the deny list.
So basically this Newby guy demands to get blog hits from
selected folks but otherwise cries about his stuff being posted?
Interesting.
Joe is not the only author there.

I wanted to take just a moment to thank you, Fred, for finally making your agenda perfectly clear.
Some of us have from time to time questioned why you posted only excerpts when full text posting is so much more conducive to discussion and promulgation of information. Those who support this site both through financial and creative contributions do so in the hope that the site will be used by its members for the critique of news from all sorts of sources, as well as social and intellectual interaction.
By continuing the one note samba of posting only from a single author on a single source and only in excerpt form, you have made it clear that your intention is something other than becoming an interactive member of the whole community that is FreeRepublic.
I guess you’re here just to pimp a blog and technically that’s within the posting rules. You’ll have to pardon me if I don’t stand up and cheer.
Excellent clarification, Shibumi. Maybe FredJake will volunteer to stop posting the blog of someone who has threatened Jim Robinson.
There are 68,000 or so more bloggers at the Examiner superblog that haven’t threatened Jim. Who the heck does this Newby guy think he is?
