Ethanol advocates claim that ethanol is a cheap, renewable energy source that reduces pollution and our dependence on foreign oil. It sounds too good to be true--and it is.

I met a fairy today that said she would grant me one wish.
“I want to live forever,” I said.
“Sorry,” said the fairy, “I’m not allowed to grant wishes like that!”
“Fine,” I said, “then I want to die after Congress gets their heads out of their asses!”
“You crafty bastard,” said the fairy.

Renewable.....not fast enough.

Cheap.....not really as it comes at the expense of increased food prices.

Reduce pollution? When ethanol reduces gas mileage and you have to use more to go the same distance, just how does this reduce pollution or our dependence on foreign oil?

The only people benifitting from ethanol are the farmers getting the subsidies and small engine repair shops.

And not to mention the obscene amount of water required to produce just one gallon.

Ethanol “saves” us from using fossil fuels the same way electric cars do as well.

And not to mention the tariff on Brazilian ethanol imports and direct taxpayer subsidies to US ethanol producers in exchange for lower mileage and engine damage. Once upon a time, our government did not oppress the people.

Corn is also for bourbon; especially Pappy Van Winkle, George T. Stagg and A.H. Hirsch.
