Children and guns can mean trouble. New York Senator Eric Adams has made a step by step video showing parents how to search their children's rooms for guns and other contraband. He shows parents how to find a gun in a pillow and promptly points it at his head. He shows how something such as a child's doll can be sinister. Senator Adams boldly says that the The "First Amendment" does not apply to searching a child's room. Does he really mean the "Fourth Amendment?" Or, what exactly does he mean? See the video

I saw the video about a week ago. It is a little goofy and the statement that the “1st Amendment” doesn’t apply to your kids rooms was obviously a big gaffe, especially for a former police officer, who ought to know something about the 4th Amendment.
That said, his message that parents should take responsibilty for making sure their kids are not engaging in criminal or dangerous behavior, and that children have no “right to privacy” from their parents was right on target.
Many parents are naive, when it comes to their kids and others don’t think they have the right to be “dictators” in their homes.
How low do we sink in state meddling?
I know about this guy. He’s a bum!
.
I don’t dislike this video. Dude might be a goof, but he is actually doing something that might help a parent be motivated to look at their children.
There should be a licensing requirement to be a parent these days. Apparently, people are learning how by watching YouTube.
Good thing I already know EXACTLY where my son keeps his rifle.
that said, once upon a time, a buddys parents installed a locked lid on one of his drawers...i dont know which was worse, his naivete, or their obvious mission to bust him [again] and betray his trust by keepin the extra key...
to this day i believe if he could, hed pull the plug on his mother in a heartbeat...
His next video is a cavity search film re: high school girls concealing drugs!
If he truly pointed the gun, or facsimile thereor at
his head, I take great issue with this video.
Moreover, there’s an incalculably enormous omission in
the entire concept. Nowhere does he mention that genuine
gun safety, training in use and handling can and are
taught and learned by “kids” as young as 10, or refer to
places that teach that. There’s another even greater
omission, if he didn’t mention the Second Amendment at all.
It's sad how everything has gone to suck so quickly.
When I was young and a good kid, Dad “rewarded” me by trusting me with my great-uncle’s prized .22/.410 over and under. I had already shot pistols by that time, and Dad soon after gave me a .30-.30.
I knew about gun safety and what guns could do. The stigma was gone, so I didn’t need to go rifling through his stuff trying to find more. I also knew not to touch a gun I came across, but to tell an adult about it.
I had no need to hide anything from them.
Exactly. Same principle works with alcohol. My dad started giving me my own can of beer when I was eight or ten, and I never did anything too stupid nor did I end up as an alkie.
FYI: The NRA is the OLDEST, and FAR AND AWAY the LARGEST, Civil Rights organization in the WORLD! It is exclusively dedicated to the USA’s 2nd Amendment!
