We live in serious times……………For these reasons, we need a strong, serious, decisive leader on the Republican ticket in 2012.

Let’s face it. Sarah Palin is clearly not that leader.

She’s fun. She’s attractive. She’s appealing. She’s down-home. She’s got a populist vibe. She shoots animals. But she’s not presidential timber. Not in times like these.

What is “presidential material”? Would you say Obama is of “presidential material”? If so, I’d rather have Sarah Palin.

Let us see: 1) Sarah Palin’s father wasn’t wealthy and didn’t keep her (and his other children) out of the Vietnam War with faux deferments; 2) she didn’t go to Yale since he didn’t (and couldn’t) ease her way past Admissions to the Ivy League; 3) she doesn’t curry support from conservatives yet dump all over them to curry favor with the press after using them to get elected; 4) she doesn’t criticize the really fine and successful President who selected her as Vice-President when his electoral career was otherwise at a total end; and, 5) she’s not dumb as mud and has never gotten us into a foreign war that cost 5,000 wonderful lives, cost over $ 1 trillion, and redounded to the prime benefit of Iran. Yes, she is really, totally unlike the Bushes so she can’t possibly be considered a serious candidate for President.

Great article. Almost Steyn-like.

I agree. I would simply submit that Governor Palin fits that description at least as well as any the mentioners (great or small) are mentioning for 2012. And perhaps better. Or to put it another way, if you tell me she’s less qualified than the rest of the field, I’d ask if you were looking at the same field I was.

I think I’ll just sneak up behind some NPR-heads and establishment Republican sheep and say “Boo! Palin!!!” just to watch them freak out and squirm. Ronnie would love it, I know he would. G-d bless Ronald Reagan, and G-d bless Sarah Palin. May G-d rescue us from the forces of evil, and especially their pets, the bleating establishment sheep.

You mean a Bush aide, like the previous ones that stabbed him in the back?

This whole discussion about who is “presidential” or not is beyond the question.

No President knows or does everything. They appoint advisors and Cabinet officials to help them run the Government.

So a better question is: Who would Sarah Palin appoint or designate for which governmental positions?

I don’t think they see him as a white Obama. They see him as a controllable, get-along moderate who will spit out whatever lines the insiders want him to say to help him get elected. He’s the consummate insider candidate.

She’s a reality TV star that fishes and shoots moose. She quit as Governor of Alaska after a measly 2 years to make money on TV. Good for her! I hope she makes a ton. But a president? Please. If we are silly enough to nominate Palin because she pretty and strikes a populist chord, we will lose in 2012. No doubt about it.

Knock George W. Bush all you want. I guess its fashionable for liberals and brainwashed Palinites. I think he did a great job and I’d vote for him again.

So basically they see him as another McCain, the same McCain that goes on TV and praises Obama and says he has no issue meeting with him to discuss whatever the heck they will be discussing. Gee, another McCain, I wonder how that is gonna work out..All I see is where are all of the candidates who Sarah Palin supported in the November election, ya know, the ones that she busted her ass for and donated money to to get elected, where are they now, why aren’t they stepping up and defending her..not a peep from any of them..sad isn’t it

We’ll lose 2012 anyway. This country is full of hot air. I’m not voting for another RINO. Have done enough of that. It’s put up or shut up time for the GOP.

NO. You should read the article.

Well, then it is p___-poor excerpting. There is nothing in that excerpt that would make me want to read further. Shouldn't one pick a few choice passages that would entice you to click and read further? At a minimum at least give the reader a clue as to the gist of the piece. Not the case here.

She is the equivalent of Senator Davey Crockett, certainly the most intellectually gifted politician in the country today. Her resume is astounding by any measure. Leadership skills and ability to identify with the people are beyond anything we have seen in 25 years. And all you see is a pretty face. Get over it misogynist.

Yes, probably done to elicit attention or something. It is annoying but the article itself mocks the idiots quoted in the excerpt nicely.

Sarah Palin is running interference for Herman Cain. Cain is very conservative and will blow all others away. If we can keep the Huckster from being a spoiler again, we may just get the man we need in the WH.

I tend to agree with you regarding her ability to raise $$$. Although this is pure speculation on my part, the electorate may not yet be ready to accept a female as POTUS.
