Television producer Diane English has a plan in case Sarah Palin runs for president. In that event, she will attempt to bring back her hit series "Murphy Brown," which ran in the late 1980s and for most of the 1990s.
The idea, apparently, would be for a six-part miniseries in which Murphy, the fictitious acerbic, uber-liberal television host, would wage a campaign against Sarah Palin. Murphy Brown was played by Candice Bergen, who subsequently played Shirley Schmidt in "Boston Legal," essentially Murphy Brown as a lawyer.
It is not clear whether English is joking or in earnest. The fictional character Murphy got into a fight with the objectively real Vice President Dan Quayle when Quayle denounced a story line in which Murphy had a child out of wedlock. In a subsequent episode, Murphy denounced Quayle as a busy body in one of her fictional broadcasts.
Mind, one hopes that Diane English is in earnest and Murphy Brown, which personified everything that was unattractive about an aging, post-modern feminazi, does come back from the grave to have at Sarah Palin. Mind, despite my personal opinion of the show and its character, it did pull in the ratings in its heyday...

Are these liberals THAT obsessed with Sarah Palin that they have to have some TV show trying to bring her down LOL..WOW talk about PATHETIC..I don’t care if a poll showed Sarah losing all 50 states it is beyond obvious that the left are absolutely TERRIFIED that she can beat Obama
How about Keith Olbermann in the starring role? He’s looking for a job.
I swear if I had the resources I would find every place possible to place an image of Sarah’s face.
Especially traditional democratic and liberal strongholds.
Jim Dial and Miles Silverberg were the only funny characters.
Please Sarah, announce already!
Oh, whatever you do, please don’t throw us into the briar patch!
I had to look up formicidae. You are clever, although off the top of my head, I could not think of another Freeper of similar status.
Because if you can't get 'em with incitement to murder, there's always Murphy Brown. Yeah, that's a plan....
THEM.
Cheers!
Careful what you wish for...if we make them really angry, they might unleash a remake of “Wait ‘Til Your Father Gets Home” on us. It would completely vanquish conservatism for all time!
I think part of what terrifies the left about Palin, is they see in our support of her, the diametrical, irresistable force opposite, of their own brainwashed gibbering toward Obama.
Palin is everything he’s not. She’s patriotic. She’s wholesome. Honest, and principled.
Obama clearly doesn’t love America. He’s certainly is not wholesome. He’s a liar. And has no principles.
So what you have is liberal fakes, who have convinced themselves that drumming up a manufactured enthusiasm for a politician who is completely a fake.
Recognizing how totally Palin shows the emptiness of their fawning over a hollow image.
And they also recognize that a groundswell built on real appreciation, is far more powerful than a groundswell built on propaganda.
YES posters of Palin should start appearing in leftwing bastions.
Flying a Palin bumper sticker already myself, deep in Blue State Cal.
Proudly, and yes a tiny bit, defiantly. :)
I loved that movie when I was a kid...
“Candice Bergen agreed with Dan Quayles argument after the show ended. “
-
And Hillary stood by her man.
He is referring to the FReeper whose name is like urine + Formicidae...
At least Candace Bergen had some talent and her character was moderately likeable. Jeannine Barfholio would be a screechfest.
You didn't pay attention in biology class, did you :^)
She was a one hit wonder .
Diane and her loser husband Joel ,have done nothing but be bitches since then.
