Prophecy Questions

Perhaps you are now like I was before taking the time to study eschatology. You have heard sermons in which there were mentions of the Second Coming. Perhaps you have also heard vague references to the “new heaven and new earth” or the “great tribulation” or the “rapture.” But you have never really studied what the Bible has to say about all this.

When I decided to find out for myself what is in the Bible, I was amazed at several things. I was amazed how many passages there really are on eschatology. By my count there are over 70. In fact, it has been estimated that one fourth of the New Testament is concerned with this!

I was also amazed that what I had heard about prophecy did not match up with what is actually clearly stated in the Bible! This puzzled me, and indeed made me a bit angry.

If you have never really studied what the Bible has to say about prophecy, this is a good start.

I once wrote a rock opera based on the paintings of HR Geiger and the Book of Revelations. It didn’t have a happy ending, you might guess... :(

When I first began following Christ (1981) I attended an Assembly of God church. They are very much “pre-trib rapture” people and I became one while studying bible prophesy. However, the more I studied, the less sense it made. Eventually I became what I call mid-trib, but what could really be called “post trib, pre-wrath”.

Also, I discovered a site a couple of years ago that covers this very well:

The guy’s bio in this area is actually very similar to mine.

Ummmm...could you post a few samples because I don’t want to jump somewhere when I have no clue what the subject matter actually is. This is a forum for discussion. Give me a reason.

You preterists are going to be soooooo shocked to find out that Nero wasn’t the Anti Christ and that Revelation was actually written in the mid 90s AD.
