No. The founder of the Muslim Brotherhood was Egyptian Hasan al-Banna. Perhaps you are thinking of Yassir Arafat who claimed a relationship.
Obama’s actions are deeply troubling.
After following numerous accounts on the ground in Cairo, it would seem that the MB is trying to co-opt and shout down what-ever legitimate aspects of this uprising that there are.
Obama’s actions have virtually anointed them the de-facto head of the resistance. This is not, “letting the Egyptian people decide”; rather it is signaling the faction with which he sympathizes.
However, since Obama doesn’t understand that he’s neither trusted or respected by Arabs, Muslims, or Egyptians - this sort of signal creates more conflict than stability.
The camel’s not only got his nose under the tent, it’s way up Obama’s butt.
The young people involved in this “insurrection for democracy” have no idea why Sadat and then Mubarak have a peace treaty with Israel. Ditto for Jordan and Syria.
There was a time during all-out Arab vs. Israeli wars when the Egyptians, Syrians, and Jordanians had their heads served up on a platter.
Israel seized all of Sinai, driving their tanks up to the Suez Canal.
As for Syria, if the United States hadn’t prevailed upon the Israelis to stop their push into Syria, tanks would have rolled into Damascus and burned the capitol of Syria to the ground.
What we see happening in Cairo is the result of history not being taught to the young in school.
The Muslim Brotherhood is whipping up the impressionable youth to take another go at the Jews. It won’t have a better result than last time around.
This time, all Israeli bombers have to do is take out the Aswan dam, with the result being half the population of Egypt dies from drowning.
Will Syria get involved? No doubt. They can’t help themselves, only this time they have WMD courtesy of the late Saddam Hussein. Using WMD will result in Israel nuking Damascus - you heard it here first!

The U.S. elects a Muslim President and now the Muslim Brotherhood’s taking over the Middle East. Is anyone else getting a creepy Manchurian Candidate vibe?
Obama ought to hang for endorsing the Muslim Brotherhood, which has so much innocent blood on its hands.
