McLean, VA -- U.S. Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) may never go grocery shopping for his wife again. While shopping this past Saturday afternoon amongst the food aisles at his local gourmet grocer in McLean, Virginia, Sen. Reid came across a fellow shopper who recognized him and asked a question that the senior senator from Nevada plainly did not want to answer. The private citizen acknowledged upfront to the U.S. Senate's most powerful Democrat that he was a Republican and wanted to know from Mr. Reid himself why the Majority Leader was refusing to allow the just-passed House bill to repeal ObamaCare to come to the floor of the U.S. Senate for a vote. Mr. Reid, walking beside the store's imported bottled condiments, responded to his questioner that he was focused on his shopping right now and did not wish to discuss the matter.

Expecting our elected representatives to answer questions! How very uncivil!
The democRATS who passed the garbage bill should never be allowed to show their faces in public without suffering ridicule and scorn.
I would suggest more but it might be considered incitement to riot/S
The Imperious Pinky Reid won’t deign to address a little person.
Yes, but I’m quite sure the store video feed has been supplied to union goons and IRS agents for final disposition of the matter.
Really! Jason Mattera is good at that.
And you thought you weren’t paying for those gas hog SUV’s?
Trying to pass unconstitutional legislation should be criminalized, and violators imprisoned and fined.
I wonder if there were a few rotten tomatoes in the vegetable section that could have been thrown at Reid?
How perfect would that have been?
Joe the plumber gets around.
Kristinn, was that you? It sounds like something you would do.
ping to you. Doesn’t Harry Reid live at the Ritz Carlton? wasn’t that established during his campaign? so what’s he need to cook? and if he does live in the Ritz Carlton, unless it’s the one out at Tysons, he is passing quite a few grocery stores to get to the toney Gourmet Giant in McLean if he lives in Pentagon City.
ping to you too, in case you know any of the answers to my questions : )
I thought he lived at the Ritz Carlton in Foggy Bottom. Perhaps it is the one in Georgetown, if he shops in McLean. Or it could be he only stays there when the Senate is in session and has a home in McLean. If I were the Senate Majority Leader, I would live at the Mandarin Oriental in Southwest. It is super luxe hotel and just a short drive up to the Capitol. From Foggy Bottom and/or Georgetown to the Capitol on a week day is not a fun drive. (And to go to the grocery store, just drive across the bridge to the very nice Harris Teeter at Pentagon Row.) I thought the McLean Giant was called the “Gucci Giant.”
Also, having read the story again, he could have been at Balducci’s.
You know, i bet you are right. i bet it was balducci’s because now that i think of it, i don’t think the Gourmet Giant is even there anymore. There was a regular Giant across from the Gourmet Giant, which really was very like the Balduccis and probably could not co-exist with the balducci’s being only a block away. that had to be it. The regular Giant is still there but he would never have been in that. My kids dentist is over there next to the plaza where the Balducci’s is, that’s the only reason i am ever over in McLean.
Now that is a scenario I can really appreciate. He swans into Balducci’s with his security guys, and gets assailed by one of the Republican regulars about Obamacare! Life is harsh.
