Standing with the dictator ally instead of freedom-seeking citizens was the wrong course for Obama. Fox News says Mubarak will not seek re-election, a huge victory for those protesting in the streets.
We asked earlier if Obama was really in a Pickle, sort of a darned if he does, darned if he doesn't kind of situation. We argued he was not and that he should have supported protesters. We were right.
Foxy Blondes News says Mubarak will not seek reelection.
Protesters quickly turned on Americans when they learned President Obama was pulling an Iran on them and telling them to be peaceful and sit down.
Obama's weak response may have cost us the friendship of whomever takes over Egypt now. And, we have no way of knowing if the "right" people are taking over! We need freedom-loving, democracy seekers in charge... not Iran-style Islamist Radicals!
Backing the dictator is what we do...until we don’t back him anymore, of course.
Obama threw Mubarak under the bus.
Will Bibi be the next world leader to be thrown under Obama’s bus?
Given his record in foreign affairs—this means something else I think in the Obama administration than it did in the Clinton administration—it’s not so surprising that he made another stupid mistake.
Obama turned on Mubarak immediately!
The smart move would have been to do NOTHING. Quietly backing Mubarak with food aid, which is what these riots were about. Instead, The Mombasa Moonbeam jumped in bed with the rioters. This will not lead to more democracy in Egypt. The jerk threw gasoline on a fundamentalist Muslim fire.
Mubarak falls and it will lead to a tyrannical Sharia Muslim Brotherhood government whose ideology is that of the Taliban. This is nothing more or less than a repeat of Jimmy Carter cutting the Shah loose and letting the Islamic fundamentalists take over an allied nation.
Obama has just begun the beginning of the de-Westernization of Egypt. What is the fool trying to do, recreate the Ottoman Empire?
This maybe gives Obama an out. He screwed the pooch, but just maybe he won't get burned here if we can weather the transition to a non-Mubarak and non-Muslim government. chances? O, slim to almost none.
Wrong. Standing by a dictator-ally who had safeguarded peace along the Egypt/Israel border and presided over a relatively stable moderate muslim country for 30 years instead of the radical Muslim Brotherhood was the right course.
For yet another headline that deserves a “well, duh!”!
Wouldn’t it be far easier to make a list of things Obama is right on or has been)?
Let me begin - feel free to add to the list:
1. _____________ uh....hmmm.... I’m trying to think of something...
Ok, maybe someone else can start this list.
The following is a list of Obama’s positive accomplishments:
Of course there are countless reasons for why MaObama wants us out of there, one is to purposfully lower our economic standards. Few people also understand Obama’s impression of Islamn is because it is a direct reflection of his relationship he had with his Father, which also drives his support for the MB and Islam.
But it is his support and admiration for the MB and Islam that causes him to get the USA out of the region completely, seeing our presence there as a violation of their sovereignty. He also sees our presence there as why they hate us so much. (Which is odd because the knows the Koran quite well and understands his own contradiction.)
Here is what I predict - everybody get your pen and paper out (or just print this comment for future reference):
Obama will jerk around the whole region, driving oil (and resulting fuel) prices through the roof by the end of his term as POTUS. He will then swindle the stupid American voters (or at least attempt to) into believing that it is the evil oil-loving Republicans in charge of the House who brought the high prices on...
His degree of success will be directly related to how the Repubs in BOTH houses address this and other issues (not that our CONgress has any real power to do anything in Egypt - but they can shut down the Obama agenda and force good legislation/undo bad legislation and cram it down The One’s throats - and reminding the voters WHO held up REAL progress...
Mubarak may have been a dictator BUT HE WAS OUR DICTATOR.
Much like Obama.
Now, do we go house to house, beating the living crap out of anyone who voted for The Mombasa Moonbeam? I mean so waddawedonow?
Commies to my Left. Wimps to my Right.
No end in sight
Whateva.
Ain't nobody said was gonna last foreva.
The difference being Mubarek is/was good for American interests.

True. When trying to figure out just what the h*ll Obama’s foreign policy is, its useful to remember that EVERYTHING he does is done with an eye to consolidating his own power and pursuing his personal domestic agenda.
I’m still waiting for the ‘freedom loving citizens’(sounds like a phrase out of Pravda, btw).
Where are they at?
I think history shows and the future will verify that democracy and Islam are incompatible with one another. Egypt has a dictator because Egypt wants and needs a dictator. They don’t want a democracy and they won’t tolerate a democracy because democracy is seen as a western/zionist institution. One way or the other, this will result in an Islamic government that is hostile towards the west and, of course, Israel. Israel needs to prepare for the big one.
This idea that what we now call "democracy" is the passion of every nation on earth is madness and will ultimately put us in a far far worse situation than pursuing a foreign policy based upon our own practical interests will. Most muslims will welcome "democracy" with open arms as long as it takes to vote in a mullah who'll kill or run out all the non-muslims and implement Sharia.
