The people of Egypt have been demanding “reform” of their government for some time. Yet, the demand for “reform” has fallen on deaf ears, ...throughout the Western World. One comes to understand that the overriding Foreign Policy in the West, with respect to the Middle East, was “STABILITY.” Justice, and Freedom were of minimal importance, as long as the region was “STABLE.”
Of course, the region has not been “STABLE”... U.S. Policy did not change in this matter until 9/11/2001 when George W. Bush decided that only a “Freedom Initiative” could bring long lasting “STABILITY” to the region. President Bush embarked on the Freedom Initiative with a massive military effort. An effort that caused a visceral reaction in the American media and the “STABILITY HAWKS” of Western Europe. While Bush won a grudging victory in Iraq, his “Freedom Initiative” never overcame the voices that cried for STABILITY. These are the voices that support moderate despots like Mubarak....
There is only a single possible outcome to this situation.
The complete overthrow of the Egyptian Government.
Oddly, these words are written with great confidence that this not so humble blogger has better information about what is happening than does Barack Obama.

And we know this mostly from the combined feeds of a few individuals. Much of it from Sharif Kouddous who is a Western reporter that has roots in Egypt. (while much of the internet is “shut down” there have been several “work arounds” published using international calling cards and dial up providers)

I believe it’s been 2 billion a year since the Camp David Accord in 1978. That makes it about 66 billion. - in direct aid, and much more indirectly.
Problem is, we’ve been sending it to a tyrant who has grown increasingly corrupt and oppressive over that time. Accordingly, our 2 Billion a year is almost guaranteed to earn the disdain of the population. Kind of like if China were pumping money into an Obama Administration to keep it in power for 44 years. We’d probably kind of be pissed at them - ya think?
We should stop the 2 Billion a year, and start supporting liberty.

Like I said, if China pumped billions into an Obama Administration that clung to power under the claim of “emergency” for 44 years while it quashed popular Tea Party movements - we’d probably be a bit hacked at China.
We have enough domestic oil and gas to last many hundreds of years. We need to immediately start extracting from shale and drilling like crazy. We need to build new refineries and nuke plants. Then tell the arabs to pound sand. They will be cutting supplies off to us anyway as India, China and other countries we have mistakenly exported our jobs to start to use as much energy as us.
We need to abolish the IRS and implement some kind of national sales tax.
We should only allow people that are legally registered to vote for someone running for Congress to give their candidates money. All monies or anything else of value needs to come form the candidates districts.
Any trade we do with another country must have 100% parity for tariffs. And if we cannot export to a country they cannot import.
Effective immediately there will be no more money provided to any other country unless it is a loan with interest.
No person shall spend federal tax dollars if they have been appointed to a position that has been approved by Congress.
The federal government will immediately begin to sell off 50% of all federally owned lands.
Money sent to Mexico via wire by individuals will be taxed at a rate equal to the highest US income tax rate +10%. Or 45%.
The borders shall be sealed off immediately. By the various national guards and they will be instructed to shoot on site. No exception.
Any drug currently deemed illegal shall be legalized if that drug is organic. If it is natural it is legal. Anyone caught with any other forms of drugs shall be fined. Anyone selling drugs that result in another persons death shall be subject to the death penalty.
No living person born in the US by non US parents is an American citizen.
Any person running for the presidency will provide all documentation on their education and documentation on their birth along with documentation of their parents birth. Any person running for president who has admitted committing a felony in writing such as the use of cocaine shall be immediately disqualified from running for office.
The list goes on but none of this will be implemented. The critters in Washington are thieves. All of them. Without exception. And none care about this country. Especially Obama, who is wrecking the country on purpose. He is clearly manipulating us in to a very dramatic and stunning situation where the country is halted due to the embargo of imported energy by the arabs and others. It will be shock and awe and overnight we will be back in gas lines and the country will be in chaos.
It would be so easy to re-vitalize the US. Just a few simple things and we could be in very good shape.

It's hard to sell liberty when nobody is buying. The sad truth is that Islam is incompatible with western notions of individual freedom and self governance. The fact is that $2 bil/ year to keep the most populace Muslim nation on earth muzzled and nominally accepting if Israel for 30+ years was money well spent.

Sadly, this is perhaps true. Unfortunately, it would seem that our investment is about to be liquidated. The question is weather we should attempt to invest in another “muzzle” or be pro-active in supporting liberty. While I realize “Liberty” is a tough sell to Arabs who have no historical reference - I’m not willing to abandon the idea that Limited Government, Individual Liberty, and Private Property can appeal to people of every race and creed.
If they become a theocratic tyranny - there’s plenty of time to attack them. If there’s a chance that this revolution is based in a legitimate consent of the governed - it at least deserves our support.
