Take even 20 minutes of speech class, and you’ll learn that a deep voice and slow, measured speech results in people hanging onto your every syllable like Wiley Coyote hanging onto a cliff twig.
0bama has the gift, to a much lesser degree.
Sadly, Alan Keyes and Sarah Palin do not.
It’s good for around 50 points on the IQ radar.

Spoken by someone ignorant of Krauthammer’s condition. He can’t help the way he speaks due to his paralysis.

He talks the way he does because he is a quadrapedic. You notice that by the way he breathes when talking..

You’re absolutely right. When you talk to a Brit with an upper class accent you think he is sooooooo bright until you realize he is a dumb as a stump.

Can be at least a little bit taught. Interpreted differently in NYC, however, where slow speech is seen as a sign of hick idiocy. (NY minute and all...) Lower pitch that falls at the end of sentences especially key in conveying dominance and authority.

I've wondered about this voice/speech issue on Sarah's part. Sometimes it seems as if she's raising her voice to get her point across, but she's not. And there is that definite (to my southern ears) Northwestern twang. I almost wish she would work on that - to kind of soften the twang a bit.

This isn't a criticism, but perception is everything in a campaign.

Wow, right on about Palin, but Alan Keyes??????? He is one of the most articulate, powerful, mesmerizing speakers I have ever heard. One of the best.

I understood your comment as a compliment to CK (not the underwear guy).
