An article at The Scientific American suggests that socialism may be the answer to the high homicide rate in America.
John Horgan writes:
Naturally, some researchers have reported data that fail to support the income-inequality theory of homicide. But I find it persuasive, especially because it points toward an attractive solution to high homicide rates: a more equitable economic system, perhaps with higher taxes for the wealthy and more generous welfare programs for the poor. In short, socialism. I hope that opponents of gun control will consider this modest, alternative proposal for reducing lethal shootings.
It's not that some people are just nuts and want to kill, it's because some people have more money than others, if one buys into Horgan's analysis.
How does the homicide rate in the United States compare to socialist countries?
Attempting to compare the crime rate in America with the former Soviet Union - arguably one of the most socialist in recent memory - is difficult, primarily because comprehensive statistics were not maintained during the Soviet Era, however, crime did increase significantly due largely to increased consumption of alcohol after the breakup of the Soviet Union.
According to a 1973 document at Open Society Archives, Soviet journalist L. Vladimirov said:
"It is forbidden to mention ... the number of crimes in any category for the country as a whole or for regions, district, provinces or cities".
The same document quotes B. A. Viktorov, Deputy Minister for Internal Affairs. According to a 1972 account of the proceedings at the fourth UN Congress on the Prevention of Crime in Kyoto, he said:
"...the elimination of private property in the means of production, the eradication of the exploitation of one person by another, and the resolution of social antagonisms led to the disappearance of basic...

The lack of comprehensive statistics was no doubt to hide the fact that crime had virtually disappeared in the Soviet Union? What nonsense.
How ignorant does a person need to be in order to support creation of a system which has been demonstrated to create lines of people waiting for bread that nobody has any economic incentive to create?
The coming failure of the U.S. economy will be caused by the failed socialist policies of our government, including the socialist lending practices encouraged by the government, and the unmanageable debt created by Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and Obamacare.

I wonder how many gun owners view it as an obligation to be able to arm less prepared friends and relatives in a time of national emergency?
I see that the national emergency in Egypt has resulted in a shutdown of the internet and cell-phone systems. How convenient for the central government to have a monopoly on communication technology at such a time.
Probably the same mechanism can be used here in the U.S. to, no doubt, "insure domestic tranquility and provide for the common" defenselessness. All very Constitutional, you see.

As Glenn Beck says, they view themselves as the ranchers, and we are the cows. It’s their job to take care of us, in spite of our stupid wishes. And of course the rules that apply to cows don’t apply to the ranchers.

What did they consider genius level? A 135+ IQ? The thing is, you look at those who are autistic, and they are genius at something, whether it be music or math or what have you, but then they obviously have their problems. Not to say that all of those classified as genius are autistic, but there are different types of geniuses.

But folks like this liar believe they will somehow be above the fray when socialism kicks in, and because they are soooo much smarter than anyone else, temples will be built to them.
Like with what is considered art today, though that may have to do with one of the Commie/Marxist planks to completely eradicate what was once thought of as art and replace it with mindless, nonsensical shapes.

Am as it was. Surely with all the college students, grad
students etc. a site could be set up to host review articles
for laymen of a similar quality, with print-ready versions.
I cannot be the only one who has thought of this.
I began subscribing to SciAm in the early 60s. The articles were excellent and really made you think. Some of my work got included in a couple of articles. I dropped my subscription after about 30 years as I just couldn’t take the change in content from science to propaganda. I’m sure it’s far worse now.
