It was the untold story of the last weekends New Hampshire straw poll, Herman Cain, Tea Party member and CEO of Godfathers Pizza, beat out Mike Huckabee, Chris Christie, Rick Santorum, Mitch Daniels, and Newt Gingrich. All with virtually no press coverage and no establishment support. With that strong of a showing in the poll, it is time conservatives and the media start giving Herman Cain a better look, and comparing him to the other potential 2012 Republican candidates.
Herman Cain was born and raised by working class parents in rural Georgia. Hes had experience in both the private and public sector, first working for the Department of the Navy before become the CEO of struggling pizza chain, Godfathers Pizza. In just 14 months Cain was able to turn the company around and shortly after that was able to purchase the company from Pillsbury. As if that werent enough, in 1994 Herman Cain singlehandedly changed the debate on Hillary-Care when he confronted Bill Clinton at a town hall meeting in Kansas City. In just one question he was able to do more damage to Universal Healthcare than the entire Republican Party did the past two years when taking on Obama-care. Dont believe me? Watch for yourself.
Herman Cain takes down Bill Clinton
Compare Herman Cain and his successes to the current list of potential 2012 rivals, starting with Sarah Palin who the media has already picked as their choice for the Republican nomination. The medias obsession with everything Sarah Palin says continually raises her to a level of prominence in the Republican Party and the Tea Party which she has hardly earned. And why elevate her to such a position? Because the media, like everyone else, knows that she will lose to Barack Obama. The liberal medias agenda is to see Obama re-elected. Dont forget that. I know that is hard to hear for several of the Palin fans out there who follow her on Facebook and Twitter like a teenage girl follows Justin Bieber, but lets look at the facts. As well meaning as Sarah Palin might be, the truth is she is a half-term governor with enormously high unfavorable ratings who is clearly unable to articulate a clear conservative argument without being spoon-fed by a softball interviewer. Add on top of that her clear interest in making money and starring in Reality TV shows over fighting for conservative values. There is no stronger evidence of her lack of commitment to conservatism and the tea party than her endorsement of John McCain over J.D. Hayworth. Sure you can say she was paying John McCain back for the V.P. nomination, but in my humble opinion, values are always more important than paying someone back. The Ill scratch your back, if you scratch mine mentality is exactly whats wrong with Washington D.C. in the first place.
What about the other candidates? Romney? Good luck with healthcare repeal when the GOP candidate is the guy who wrote the Obama-care playbook. They used his Massachusetts experiment as a basis for their mandate, and lets not forget his previous liberal positions (pro-choice, pro-gay marriage.) Gingrich? The guy that shares the same climate change beliefs as Al Gore, and was for Barack Obamas success before he was against it. Pawlenty? Its seriously unsettling how bad he wants to be President. Its obvious he will do and say anything to sit in the Oval Office. Did you see how fast he threw Sarah Palin under the bus for her crosshairs map? Huckabee? When Mike Huckabees not busy commuting the sentences of known murderers and rapists, he is supporting Michelle Obamas nanny-state agenda about what our children eat. The list goes on and on, and the more you dive into the record of each potential Republican candidate the more you find that nobodys perfect. Nobody except Herman Cain. I defy you to find one liberal position this man has ever taken.
Herman Cain is a by-the-book, tried-and-true Tea Party conservative who has had success in both the private and public sector. He has not donated thousands of dollars to other politicians in the party in hopes of future support because he does not play political games. As a matter of fact, we need Herman Cain as our 2012 GOP Presidential Candidate because of the one thing he is not a politician. And hes the only one in the potential Republican field who can say that.
Didn’t you get the message from Jimmy Moron? We are racists:

Just unbelievable. Thanks for posting that article. No wonder his name is moron! For anyone who thinks Republicans and conservatives are racist just ask yourself this question- Who talks more about race? It’s the Libs who are obsessed with race!
PING!!!
Cain for President
I completely agree. Sarah Palin’s greatest strength is the way she can draw a crowd of conservatives together. I think the best thing she could do for the conservative movement is throw her support behind a candidate like Herman Cain. If she endorsed Cain early on, can you imagine the effect that would have on the race?
That’s the deal.
I don’t even think about it until someone brings it up.
Hi Pissant!
The Hermanator is great. I hope he runs.
Very misleading. He came in 7th. Mitwitt ran off with it. Which is absolutely understandable since it was New Hampshire. Your boy Cain was seventh.
He was beaten by Mitt, Ron, Tim, Sarah, Michele and Jim. I am sure he is a great guy and all but his actual ranking would have been helpful.

Mark my words, he would WASTE Obama in the general election. Best candidate in the field imo.
But, She would have been 2-late by then to give so much support to most of the 2010 candidates. Transitioning from a government job to the private sector requires a good down-time period to reload and recharge.
AMERICA can't wait any loger than 2012 for Sarah to give her utmost.
I am backing Sarah in 2012 and no one else. She has been fighting socialism with her every breath and has been zealous against the political status-quo.
King/Queen-maker is too small a task for her.
I understand he was beaten by some others in the straw poll, but the fact that he finished above supposed “top-tier” candidates like Mike Huckabee, Newt Gingrich, Chris Christie, and Mitch Daniels really says something. Especially when you realize that Herman Cain gets absolutely zero press coverage or mentions in the 2012 field. Imagine if the media, FOX News, and talk radio focused just 1/2 the attention on Herman Cain that they do on Newt, Huck, and Christie. I think if he got more attention he would easily have finished even higher in the poll!
You miss what I was saying if she would have turned down McCain’s offer I doubt anyone would have given her a second thought, that would have allowed her to finish her term and then run for the number one slot. I think Sarah would have made a very good President, but again I point out she has all the support she will ever be able to get and thought that is considerable it’s not enough to beat Obama. And we have to beat that @#$%^$ or the country goes down the drain!
I believe that Sarah's base-of-support can go up even more than it is at right now.
I sincerely believe that She will present a valid and readily-acceptable plan to save AMERICA when she hits the campaign trail in 2012.
I believe that her plans to defund and diminish many outrageous and invasive federal government agencies will be acceptable to Independents....as long as they remain angry at Obama and his administration.
Again, I am very-optimistic because I know that Sarah has a track-record of fighting corruption in both parties.
Sorry as much as I like Sarah the electorate has already clearly decide she is someone that you either love or hate and there just isn’t that many undecidededs. She would draw fairly much what she and McCain drew and as we know that’s just not enough.
Geez, what’s up with all the blogpimps coming to the FreeRepublic and creating brand new accounts just to pimp their own blog.
It’s like email spam to a message board.
What’s next, advertisements for Viagra?

He put it in Bloggers, not News; posted the whole article, not an excerpt; wrote it himself, instead of copying someone else's work or just linking a YouTube video; and sticks around to respond to people, instead of post and run.
I'd rather have bloggers like this on Free Republic than just get excerpts and generate hits for Politico and The Hill. Heck, he even seems to be able to use spell check, which several of them have never heard of.
