Holy God these speeches are so damn boring. At one point I fell asleep and when I woke up he was talking about railway and sputnik, I honestly thought thought that I woke up in 1958. Thank God my laptop was sitting on my lap and I was staring at a 44 inch LCD TV.
Anyway, as far as I could tell this is what the President wanted me to take from his speech:
1. We’re re-launching Sputnik. 2. Trains are going to be the vehicle that takes us into the 22nd century. 3. Europe is beating us because they have this newfangled “rail-system” 4. Did John Boehner have a minibar up at the rostrum with him (picture below)? 5. From what I can tell only one person got caught falling asleep, that in it of itself it impressive. 6. How bad did Boehner want to excuse himself for a smoke? 7. Paul Ryan smoked a lot of weed before he did the GOP response.
Did he make it through without bursting into tears?
He did tear up once.
Here’s a question for you.
Why didn’t John Boehner cry? I mean he had plenty of reason too, him having to sit there and listen to ‘Zero’ drone on and on. It had to be as painful as child birth or at least a root canal!
Who was it. I counted at least three including Ginsburg which they would not show up close...only from a long shot.
According to Dennis Miller, Boehner is planning to go on tour with the Chinese President. It will be called “Hu and Cry.”
People were doing crosswords, reading the program to see how much longer, yawning, etc. At one point Biden even checked his pocket for his grocery list or something. The mini-bar comments are humorous. I don’t remember San Fran Nan ever having something like that. Joe’s expression reminded me of Walter the puppet.
Paul Ryan...good speech, but...anyone on his staff ever hear of Visine?

Oh, can you imagine if he poured himself a shot every time Obama said "investment"?
