Thanks for that.
The Bersa Thunder .380 is an Argentinian knock-off of the Walther, but like $300 cheaper. In either case, as a rule of thumb, watch your thumb. That slide can be mean to it. You may need to shop around for the type of ammo that is best for it, which means putting in the range time.
gunbroker has them NIB for less than a hundred over your $425.00.
Bersa’s are nice, A little thick, though.

Finally something we can agree on.....I've got a pair of Ruger P89s w/15 rd mags.
Round is fine, but the pistol is heavy and the trigger is horrible. Way better off with a 38 snub or a ruger 380. Walther has surfed the James Bond thing for way too long. If you wear it in a belt holster like a Luftwaffe officer, then ok,,, but there are way better choices.
I guess it’s price right then.
$425 sounds a little high to me for a used one but they do sell for fairly high prices.
I am not sure how to tell when one was made tho if it is a commercial blued one made after WWII, it is almost certainly made by Manurhin of France. Walther would have the pistols made completely by Manurhin, then shipped to Germany where they may have done some tiny amount of finishing and then stamped them “Made in Germany”
The Manurhin ones are beautifully made and finished. For a while Walther had Interarms make the PPK/s in America. They were all stainless that I have seen and probably the worst Walthers ever. Even the worst Walthers are not bad tho.
I understand they have an agreement with S&W to produce them now.
You can probably date them by serial number but I have no idea how.
It takes 2 seconds to disassemble a PPK. Do you mean the popular P22?
I’d say it’s in the ballpark, especially if you’re convinced that it’s in good shape and you trust the seller.
In some European countries the round is designated 9mm Kurz, in the US .380, same difference.
This is stainless and an interarms.
It may not be a PPK...it may be a PP. It’s old and really pretty.
Read what the guy posted. HE was asking for suggestions. He has not bought the Walther yet. It is okay but there are better choices. I know someone who owned one and they are okay but not great. The recoil is not that great either.
.380s have a snappy recoil where a 9 mm may be less.
The SIG P230 is .380 or the Beretta Cheetah in .380.
He can get 14 shots on target with the Cheetah and can use
Hornady 90gr XTP-JHP and get a real 1000 fps too.
Getting shots on target quickly is the key.
Thanks. Thought about but hadnt done it before.... that or a set screw of some kind.
For exactness, cal in decimal inches X 25.4mm/1 inch = mm
However, some manufacturers do round off for ease of naming. I would probably not intermix bullets labeled .380, .357, .38 and 9 mm for reloading purposes or shooting in gun other than labeled for.
The pistol he is holding in that picture is an air pistol. I suspect very few people realize that as it looks cool. When the picture was made, they did not have a Walther PPK available so they used the air pistol one of them owned.
That air pistol is a Walther tho.
