I am totally buying that book.
Sorry but Nazi is an acronym for National Socialism....Socialism is an economic system .... Nazi by definition has a particular economic system model (be it with it own unique "flavor" for control of the people) as part of it overall government model
Any authoritarian centralized government control model must have an underlying authoritarian centralized government controlled economic system model to function
Authoritarian centralized government control of the people and and people operating in a Overall Free market/enterprise capitalism economic system model do not mix....
Your either "Free" or your not
I wouldn’t say that. There’s a healthy Conservative movement on Twitter and Facebook.
You can reach thousands of more people using social networks than the whole “boots on the ground” thing.
Beautiful pic!
Just an obvious point but there is nothing libertarian about these positions at all
Someone needs to advise the historians that Nazi Germany was not a fascist state. I’m sure that they will all be sure to rewrite history and turn them into Marxists.
Entirely too many "historians" don't know history from a hole in the ground.
My comments are correct as posted.
Since our government has large admixtures of socialism, I guess we’re evil.
As a registered Libertarian, I was amused myself.
Interesting fact: Mein Kampf only mentions the word “fascism” twice.
We are not evil, but the regime in DC is certainly becoming evil. The federal “government” couldn’t care less about our God given rights. (Obamacare, hatecrime laws, the assault weapons ban, just to name a few violations)
Cool quote.
You are entirely welcome to believe whatever you choose, but every regime on Earth has large admixtures of socialism. Examples in our country include Social Security and Medicare. Just to start.
If you cannot see any significant difference between the governments of the Sweden and the UK and those of Nazi Germany and North Korea, despite their all being proclaimed socialist in nature, then I suggest you have limited ability to make critical distinctions.
I agree with you that present government policy is misguided. BTW, all the examples you list except Obamacare predate the present administration. The present group is merely the most extreme example to date of a bad trend, they are not THE problem.
Socialist Security and Medicare/Medicaid are breaking the country. The United States is spending more on entitlements than anything else. The country owes over 100 trillion dollars in unpaid liabilities, the majority of which is from the goodies I’ve listed above. It’s like Franklin Dictator Roosevelt left us a ticking timebomb as a going away present.
As far as my original statement goes, I stand by it. The two governments you mention both have a universal health care system that rations care. In other words, these governments let human beings wait in pain while they await care or simply lets them die if they’re too old or too sick. Sounds pretty Hitler like and pretty inhuman to me.
I must admit, I enjoy debating someone with out it degenerating into a flame war.
"Socialist" is an admittedly imprecise concept. However, it seems pretty clear to me every government on earth has some admixture of policies that can be termed "socialist." IOW, there are no "non-socialist" governments on earth.
The two governments you mention both have a universal health care system that rations care. In other words, these governments let human beings wait in pain while they await care or simply lets them die if theyre too old or too sick.
This is an accurate statement. However, I would like to point out that the present US system equally rations care, except it is on the basis of wealth, or of present status on health insurance.
While this may not be "socialist," I find it difficult to consider it morally superior.
My point is not that government-controlled health care is morally superior, it is that our presently-existing system also has moral flaws, which are arguably egual or greater.
“I worked out an anarchistic theory that all government is evil, that the punishment does more harm than the crime and the people can be trusted to behave decently if you will only let them alone.” —George Orwell, The Road To Wigan Pier (A painful read to say the least. Not exactly 1984 or Animal Farm, but a good point nonetheless.)
The current system health care system in the US isn’t perfect, but it’s far superior to socialized health care. The main problem is that government got in the way of the free market by insisting no one could buy insurance across state lines. This crony capitalist set up allowed insurance companies to create monopolies with the help of the state.
