Our Father
Who is Art Rooney
Hallowed be thy Game
Thy touchdowns come
Thy playoffs be won
On Earth as they are in Heinz Field
Give us this year Ring number seven
And forgive us our penalties
As we try to forgive those who root against us
And lead us not into lost yardage.
But deliver us from turnovers
A-Ben

There's a personal angle here too, Barack Obama is a Bears fan... I know, I'd hate to take that out on a whole geographical region. Plus my sister-in-law, who is the sweetest nicest person in the world, really good to my kids, and has to put up with my brother, is a Bears fan. Who do I root for now? That's a tough one, right? Sorry sis, hate is stronger than love in football.

My take is a bit different (at least in sports). Just because the Usurper is a Bears fan (presuming he even has a clue about football) doesn't cause me to hate the Bears. The Zero at 1600 may also like a good ribeye steak but I won't change my tastes due to that.

Now what does bother me is when a team's owner and top management (including the coach) express their support so blatantly for the Marxist. That's why I've come to despise the Steelers, in spite of them being my ex-hometown team.

I’m torn too. Wouldn’t mind seeing the Jets win after a 40-something year drought. However, my daughter is a Steelers’ fan and invited me to join her at a Steelers bar for the game. And to boot, we and the bar are in NYC.

I'm calling Packers/Jets.

I'm a Giants fan. I am much more confident in the Pack than I am the Jets.

As a Steelers fan (wearing my jersey as I type), I’d rather play Chicago than Green Bay in the Super Bowl. On the other hand, I pretty much loathe the Bears as a franchise, and frankly, anything to do with Chicago these days. So, I’m torn here. The Packers are playing very well right now and the Bears haven’t faced a serious test in weeks. Green Bay 23-14.

As much as I’d love to say the Steelers will trounce the Jets, that’s not likely. (I can still hope, however.) The Jets have enough receiver threats to give Pittsburgh trouble, unless of course they can get to Sanchez. In a close game, the Jets may have the edge, though as noted upthread, it’s hard to choose again Big Ben in a Big Game. Best way to beat the Jets? Get ahead early and attack Sanchez. Steelers 31-20.

Obama predictated a Bars win, so I’m betting my lungs on GB (and I’m a Bears fan).
