Nothing reflects the vulgarity of the national conversation over the past few years more than the relentless "hating" of Sara Palin, particularly in the Jewish community, particularly those Jews who flatter themselves as being tolerant, as masters of civility.

Amen, Jonathan. Such widespread, irrational, and intense hatred for a politician who hasn't yet even announced her candidacy for national office beats all I've ever seen.

The reason why this coded messages meme is so horrible is it is another way to push for de facto speech codes or hate speech laws. They literally want to ban words in this country, and destroy anyone who does not think like them.
