Former Huffington Post CEO and CBSNews.com General Manager Betsy Morgan has been named president of Glenn Becks Web venture, The Blaze.
Morgan, who spent 10 years at CBS News before jumping to HuffPo, departing there in June of 2009, will now be tasked with growing the news and information site geared toward Becks radio and TV community. Mercury Radio Arts, Becks company, also announced tonight that former Premiere Radio Networks President Kraig Kitchin will join The Blaze as director of sales. Scott Baker, who joined The Blaze from Breitbart.tv as Managing Editor, has been promoted to Editor-in-Chief.
The Blaze is very fortunate to welcome Betsy and Kraig to the team, said Beck in a statement. Betsy has proven herself to be a successful media executive and leader in the digital media space, and her unique perspective and experiences will be valuable in building The Blaze as a vibrant, impactful community.
The Blaze is a curated mix of stories from politics, to news of the day, to offbeat stories and media criticism, from a conservative point of view. The site, launched in August, boasts about 3 million unique visitors a month.

Well, I haven’t yet looked at the online rag. Now it’s looking unlikely I ever will
What, no one with any conservative credentials could be found?
From the Huffpost? And CBS News.com?
What about “restoring honor”, Glenn?
Why not just hire Pinch Sulzberger?

“...Mr. Beck, however, experienced some setbacks in that medium(radio) this week. Both WOR radio in New York and WPHT in Philadelphia are dropping the show as of Jan. 17.
Scott Lakefield, the assistant program director of WOR, said ratings for Mr. Beck had fallen off since his early days on the station. We noticed a downward trend, Mr. Lakefield said. The audience was just going elsewhere.”
The site seems to have more interesting stuff that is updated more often then Drudge anymore. I just have my antenna go up when anybody involve at Huffpo in the last couple years tries to do something else. That is a POS rag full of lies and nothing to emulate.
Having worked for attorneys this seems clear to me. It is a business proposition. When you represent an abusive parent you advocate for family reunification. When you represent a child you advocate for severance. It is a job.
Was Markos Moulitsas not available? I see them as being a shill for Willard in the coming months, but I could be wrong...
It’s just a job?
Sorry, a person who makes his living off the conservative base needs to show he believes what he speaks.
You don’t hire the enemy, no matter how competent.
Anyone who worked for Huffpost and CBS News, in any form, is an enemy to this country.
No sale, and your proposition is baloney.
Beck makes as much sense as much. But he’s a Mormon. They cancel each other out.
as most.
“What about restoring honor, Glenn?”
He is, one dollar at the time. Some are getting really greedy these days and overexposing themselves. Maybe they feel that they have a limited shelf life
I’d been wondering what this Blaze thing was all about. Seems strange for a conservative site to use a name that sounds like it belongs to a gay magazine.
That’s like Nixon hiring John Lennon to be his press secretary.
Seems to be dynamically opposed.
How do you know it’s the “enemy”? If my logic applies then for all you know it was “just a job” at Huffpo.
I thought you were going to say like Nixon giving Elvis an honory DEA badge!
Here I thought it was a piece from the Onion
I rarely go to the HuffPost but what I see there is all kinds of people replying to posts. Liberals, libertarians and conservatives. None are banned. If for no other resaon than to get more hits so get more advertising revenue
The HuffPost slants left as far as what is posted for their audience to read and react to. This is why they are leftist
meh, the webpage looks boring. why would i go there over google news
Before someone here goes off 'half-cocked' and asks How I know that it the same Betsy Morgan ... Just Google: Betsy Morgan and SAUJANI, RESHMA together.
(You'll find all of the articles just like I did!)
