Other then to move it to Tuesday evening, the only other alternate. What surprised me is that, Gov. Randell, who would have taken the Mayor to task, did not do so since the former would be the later’s boss. Oh well.

But that wouldn’t be an alternative. Going to an early slot still violates the mayor’s orders and violates NBC’s contract. Thus the move to Tuesday night. Really it’s all on the mayor, if he hadn’t declared a state of emergency the game would have gone on as originally scheduled, once he declared a state of emergency complete with curfew, the NFL had no choice. You can’t play a game during a state of emergency even if the emergency is a joke, and you can’t entice 70 thousand people to violate curfew even if the curfew is stupid. The minute the major did that contract law, liability law and PR sense (what happens if the storm really does hit and fans die trying to drive home in it) all say the league has to push the game to another night.
