As reported by Grass Roots North Carolina, Johnston County in North Carolina has undertaken to regulate the discharge of any projectile “within 600 feet of a dwelling”.

Those of you who have yet to run afoul of these ordinances may welcome a short explanation.

Abraham Lincoln used to walk a few hundred yards from the White House to test fire new weapon designs brought to him by eager war profiteers.

Now unless you are Vince Foster, you darn well better not fire a gun inside the confines of Washington,DC.

ESPECIALLY the parks!!!

Best regards to all,

I went to Ft Marcy Park some years ago. The Ranger there didn’t even ask me why I was there- without any prompting, he led me to where Foster was found.

This may also, and I reference the number of old busy-bodies who are dead set against anyone having fun, restrict paintball, airsoft and homemade catapults.

It is incredibly important that our young ones learn how to handle guns and this is a very bad law. Very Californian.

This law, as I read it, forbids self defense with a firearm.

In MA it’s 500 feet. Never been an issue for me but of course I don’t live in a Penny Lane neighborhood either.

This is astonishing. Johnston county is full of farmers and moonshiners. Who wrote this piece-of-crap ordinance?

Shooting an arrow is not discharging a projectile, in any normal sense of the word, although firing an air gun or a firearm would be.

Bolsheviks are not rational in any normal sense of the word.

Yet somehow they worm their way to the top of the food chain.

This smells like someone with the ear of one or more commissioners has a problem with a neighbor shooting on adjoining property — and I would bet it’s over the *noise*. IF anyone is in a position to inquire locally, I’d check with the Sheriff’s office for noise and/or nuisance type complaints about gunfire and see if the same complainant appears with any frequency. That would be a clue.

”Freedom is never lost all at once,” Edmund Burke.
Statists start off with laws that are ‘Reasonable’ and ‘Common-sense’just to get them on the books. Then with the nose under the tent wall, they just modify those laws slightly until another freedom is eviscerated.

You've got that right:

A system of licensing and registration is the perfect device to deny gun ownership to the bourgeoisie.

The IRS began as a one page form exclusively directed at the rich.

Today, every paycheck in America is docked for taxes BEFORE it is even cashed.
