Whatever Happened to “The land of the Free and the Home of the Brave?"
INSIGHT ^ | December 16, 2010 | J.D. Longstreet

Some months ago I related to you how I stood in the parking lot of one of the Big Box stores and counted 22 cameras observing everything going on around me. Those were just the cameras I could see from my vantage point. There were more. Please note: That was OUTSIDE the store. Upon entering the store there were uncountable cameras peering at shoppers -- some obvious and others strategically located and camouflaged, I expect.

Some years ago, in a nearby city, my wife and I had been shopping in a large grocery store in route home from attending church. As we prepared to pay for our purchases by check, the cashier informed me that I must have my photo taken. I completely lost it.

Let the Revolution begin!

You know I was gonna say “let those bastards take their best shot”, but it appears they already are!

I sense were are right around April 10th, 1775 in this country. April 19th, 1775 is just around the corner!

I've suggested before that the franchise should only be extended to persons who fall in at least one of three categories:

1. Net taxpayers - i.e. people who directly contribute more to the operation of the government than they receive from it. Essentially, if you pay taxes, you get a vote in how that money is to be spent.

2. Honorably discharged/retired and currently serving active duty service members. If you are, or have been willing to put your life on the line, you get a vote.

3. Real property owners. If you own a chunk of the nation, you get a say in how it's governed.

Admittedly, it's a pretty low bar, and a lot of people would fall into two or three of the categories, but I also think, just by excluding those who produce and contribute nothing, we'd see vastly different election results than what we currently do.

My FRiend, I think this is the last winter of our discontent and in the spring things will get very interesting.

It may April 19, 1775 all over again.

A second revolution has been in cards since the late 1960s.

I always like understanding who I am responding to when an article is posted under blogger/personal. I’ve found some article authors are not easily approached on their articles.

I’ve noticed the same thing too - I call it, “dump & run.”

You’d think the authors would join the discussion... I know I’d like to do a “Q & A” with Longstreet, who is something of a Confederate philosopher.

You do realize there still exists a “Confederate Intelligensia” alive and well in the South in the 21st century?

Yep! It wasn’t the “Civil War” it was the “War of Northern Aggression” and it was over “States’ Rights” not slavery.
