2012: It Has Begun (Or, The Scott Heard 'Round the World, Round 2)
Grand Rants ^ | 12-14-10 | Stoutcat

Barely a year ago, Scott Brown stunned state and national pundits with his leap to stardom as a poster-boy for the Tea Party, and against all expectations, ended up taking the People’s Seat as Senator Brown (R-MA). So he’s had almost a year of grace to prove that he is, in fact, a Massachusetts Republican, which is far better than a Massachusetts Democrat, by any stretch of the imagination.

And now, not yet even into 2011, the campaign against Sen. Brown has begun. The Huffington Post reports on the first salvo, which was fired by The Agenda Project, the selfsame group who promoted those “Patriotic Millionaires” who want Obama to raise their taxes. Although there is absolutely nothing preventing them from paying more taxes, they simply can’t do it unless it’s legislated for everyone. Of course, out of their reported 375,000 millionaires in America, they could only find 150 to sign their petition. Really? Wow, most of our millionaires must be smart!

But I digress...

This is like a Maine traitor twin voting for cloture on something significant (health care bill????) and then saying she would vote against the bill itself.

No doubt you wish you’d elected Martha Coakley ~ even if she’d succeeded in getting that reporter killed.

Didn’t you hear? RINOs get a pass in New England, the Mid-Atlantic and the left coast, and liberal cities and teacher unions, and etc...

He should did stop that Obamacare didn't he. Now he is considered as a quick sign on to every liberal idea that comes out. Every bit of the money given to protect him in 2012 should go to challengers in red states against dem Senators. It will be a better return on your money. Make this guy an asterisk in the history books.

US Sen. Brown says he will not support 'DREAM Act'

In MA, IMHO he's the best we could hope for. And if he stops the DREAM act, that's priceless.

Stoutcat, why are you posting here to a RomneyBOT blog?
Is it not enough that Romney ruined several election in 2010?

Alan Speakman and Gerry Ashley are RomneyBOTs.

Praising Romney and RomneyCARE:

Gerry Ashley: "Scott is savvy enough to know how important fiscal responsibility is at this point. And he seems to have Mitt Romney as a supporter. If Mitt becomes a mentor, fiscal responsibility will come as part of the package."

Defending Romney who brought in millions of illegal aliens
before the carpetbagger FLED the Commonwealth to California:

"“Coupe” Deval ... rescinded previous Governor Mitt Romney’s agreement with federal authorities to allow State Police to arrest suspected illegals, and replaced it with a much weaker compromise"

I understand Scott Brown was elected with a conservative platform. But he was elected to represent the people of Massachusetts. That is his job. And that is in fact a very, very liberal state.

A conservative Republican in Massachusetts is like having a liberal Democrat in Utah.

The best you can possibly hope for in states like Massachusetts, New York, California, Delaware, Maine, etc, are RINOs. If that’s not good enough...fine...let the Democrats control those seats. That’s just the reality of the population.

Absolutely. Jim DeMint types aren't going to get elected in MA.

Scott is a poser and no better than Obama. MA was totally duped and scammed by this miscreant.

Not that I'm a huge fan of Brown, but he did vote against 0bamaCare. It was only by a twisted and tortured manipulation of the reconciliation process the dems got that passed. He represents the bluest state in the union. What's the alternative?

Exactly. Most of the people ranting here do not have any concept of politics here in (m)Assachusetts.

This state is ruled by liberals. Even after the recent elections our House of Reps delegation remains all Democrat despite all those seats being contested and in what was likely the best chance we had to take one or more of them. The idiots in this state even re-elect Deval Patrick, one of the most inept governors this state has ever seen.

The alternative would have been Marsha “It’s not illegal to be illegal in Massachusetts” Coakley.

Brown has done a decent job. I will vote for him again.

I wonder how many of these “patriotic millionaires” have trust funds used to avoid death taxes.
IMHO any talks of raising the estate tax should open up trusts for death taxes also. I am so tired of the wealthy liberals wanting to raise taxes and then NOT paying or using loopholes to avoid what they want the other guy (us) to pay.

Brown is going to be in the crosshairs from both sides. It’s already started here at FR, too.

It is absurd to expect Brown to vote like he represents Oklahoma. He is from Massachusetts, the home of the Kennedys, the only state in the nation that went for McGovern. He has a responsibility and a propensity to vote like his constituents expect him to.

Brown is the best we’re going to get out of that state, and it’s downright stupid for conservatives to try to bring him down.

One of my long time friends lived in MA and had a condo in Fl.

He recently sold his home in MA {still has a condo there} and changed his residency to FL. no state income tax.

He is loving life, spends 6-7 months in FL and 5 months in MA.

He hated MA politics and bitched about it for years, but now feels like he's found heaven on earth.
