Expect the roof collapse to be used as proof the taxpayers need to cough up for a new Vikings stadium. I wouldn’t be surprised if the snow was allowed to build up to the point of collapse on purpose.
Somewhere Bud Grant was cheering. Football was meant to be played outdoors.
But apparently, they cannot support 17 inches of snow. Sorry, but it seems that Minnesota has had snowstorms and blizzards before.... and I expect, more snow than that. SO is this Tarp fatigue?
That’s what you get for having a ‘Glad Bag’ for a roof.
The roof has collapsed before...but all of the sudden it is being used as an excuse for a new stadium?
There is a chance it will be repaired and ready to go by next Sunday...so the repairs can’t be that expensive (a week’s labor and three rolls of duct tape?)
I’m sure the NFL lost alot of money on this - and they will use this to bully the Vikings into a new stadium...how much would it cost to cut that tarp off the stadium and call it ready for play?
Let ‘em go for all I care. They’re a second-rate team and have been (with a couple of exceptions) since the days of the Purple People Eaters. The Dome is a boondoggle and Favre is kaput. Sail away, Vikings. I for one won’t miss you.
THIS is my problem with professional sports. I don’t mind that owners are billionaires and players are millionaires. I DO mind that they turn to the taxpayers to subsidize their business ventures and then make their millions charging those same taxpayers exhorbitant fees to see the fruits of their tax “contributions.”
They need to bring back the "23rd Viking."
They could move to wherever they want and they'll still need a new quarterback.
Ladies and Gentlemen: Coming Soon, The Los Angles Vikings!!
A possible goodbye to the Baggie Dome?
I would not brag too much on the Minnesota voters. They are also the ones who gave us Frankin and Ventura.
The Vikings told the NFL today the dome won’t be ready by next Monday...
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) The Metrodomes torn roof wont be repaired in time for the Vikings Monday night game with Chicago, stadium officials said Tuesday as the team prepared to use Minnesotas TCF Bank Stadium as a backup.
