Palin barely tops muddled national GOP presidential picture
public policy polling ^ | December 8, 2010 | techno

Posted on 12/08/2010 4:43:50 AM PST by techno

Overall:

Palin 21% Gingrich 19% Romney 18% Huckabee 16%

Conservatives:

Palin 24% Gingrich 23% Romney 15% Huckabee 14%

Men:

Palin 23% Gingrich 23% Romney 16% Huckabee 11%

46-65 age category:

Palin 21% Romney 18% Gingrich 17% Huckabee 14%

65+ age category:

Palin 23% Romney 19% Gingrich 17% Huckabee 17%

This is the first time that Palin has led in any national PPP poll of GOP contenders and among these categories.

Could this be a preview of coming attractions? Yes, there is no frontrunner right now as Karl Rove suggests. But could Palin become a clear frontrunner by the end of the first quarter in 2011 if she can parlay these numbers into further support?

I’m not sure who this PPP outfit is, but I’d question these poll results. There’s no way Gingrich has that high a percentage among conservatives.

PPP is a pro-Romney poll.

Here are the results of two REAL POLLs.

Since the end of October, Palin has also led in 7 state polls: Ohio, Wisconsin, Washington state, Maine, West Virginia, Texas, and Montana and is within two points in Missouri and Minnesota.

Geez, can we give all of the polls a rest until we see who’s actually going to throw their hats in the ring? Even if this were the list of actual candidates, these polls are pretty meaningless before anyone even starts campaigning in earnest.

Except for the “Christie” part, I would agree with “Harry”.

But could Palin become a clear frontrunner by the end of the first quarter in 2011....................................... Not if Rove can help stop it.

PPP IS A PRO-ROMNEY POLL

Not true. Take a gander at the last 23 state polls conducted since the end of October.

When PPP is showing Palin leading Romney by 15 points respectively in NC and Montana among MODERATES and Romney is finishing no better than 3rd and 4th place in the heartland in several polls, these recent polls cannot be classified as pro-Romney.

WTF is Newt doing in that poll?

I mean, as much as I detest Romney and Huckabee I can understand where those 2 are getting their support... various shades of RINOs.

But Newt?

Who ARE those people.

Gee, I think Newt is an intelligent guy and should be president of the United States.

Really?????

Please, somebody, post the video of Newt and Nancy on the couch.

PPP is the polling outfit commissioned by Daily Kos.

I am sure they would rather have Sarah Palin.

I remember a speech Newt made, where he said something about how a conservative should not be smiling next to a liberal, which made me remember a picture of him and Pelosi sitting together on a cough, smiling. He probably forgot about that. Anyone got that link of his speech?

Why so they can have their self-delusion explode in their face when she wins?

The last poll prior to this one was taken in September. Here are the net changes in the various categories:

Overall:

Palin +4
Gingrich +1
Romney -4
Huckabee -5

Moderates:

Palin +6
Gingrich +1
Romney -8
Huckabee -2

Conservatives:

Palin +3
Gingrich +1
Romney -3
Huckabee -7

Women:

Palin +6
Gingrich 0
Romney -5
Huckabee -6

Men:

Palin +3
Gingrich +3
Romney -3
Huckabee -7

September poll did not include a breakdown of the age categories so this comparison is between August and now:

30-45

Palin -6
Gingrich 0
Romney -3
Huckabee -17

46-65

Palin 0
Gingrich -5
Romney -8
Huckabee -7

65+

Palin +2
Gingrich -5
Romney -2
Huckabee +1

Huckabee is the clear loser in this most recent national poll.
