Until Her Veil Was Put Back Over Her Face
A Saudi man could not identify his wife after a fatal car accident without her veil on. Hed never seen her face. Emirates 24 reported, via Jihad Watch:
After nearly 10 years of marriage that produced five children, Mufleh Mohammed of Saudi Arabia still has not seen his wifes face.Mohammed Hilal, another Saudi husband, could not identify his wife who was killed in a road crash until her veil was put back on her face.
Mufleh and Mohammed are among many Saudi men who have never seen the face of their wives as they insist on sticking to ancient tradition of keeping their face covered even in front of their relatives or husbands in defiance of ongoing changes brought about by the advent of oil and a massive foreign influx.
In a report on such habits, the Saudi Arabic language daily Alhayat said many women in the conservative Gulf Kingdom that controls nearly a quarter of the worlds oil still defy the winds of change and stick to their ancestors traditions.
Even after they get married, they never remove their burqu (face veil), leaving their husbands guessing how they look like. Mufleh is one of those husbands.
My wife still keeps her face covered all the time even in front of her family and relatives because she has been accustomed to this since she was a child I have to respect her wishes and not insist on seeing her face, he said.
Alhayat said Mohammed was another one among many Saudi husbands who are deprived from seeing the face of their wives.
I could not identify my wife after she was killed in a road accidents I asked security women to put the veil back on her face after they did so, I recognized her and indentified the dead person as my wife, he said.
What a wonderful way to live.
Now you've done it. You just couldn't leaf it alone...
You guys are killing me. Those puns... can’t beat ‘em with a stick!
Hey Mufleh, I saw her face when a big wind came up.
Trust me; Leave the veil on.
We’re trying to branch out into alternative possibilities of humor. Personally, I’m stumped.
“Diggum check for bees!”
That’s what broomsticks are for, according to the joke I heard.
I now pronounce you man and gloryhole.
ISLAM DELENDA EST - because of what Islam is and what Moslims are/do.
"The first time.. ever I saw your face... your face... your face...."
It’s institutionalized obsessive compulsive disorder.
Once you deciduous going to use puns, you have to be careful. You don't want to come off as a sap.
There’s something so odd to this story, I mean, did the man identify his wife or a veil?
Good point...
I bet you fell in love with her immediately after you saw her beautiful face...
Sounds like pulp fiction to me.
After some of the wrecks I witnessed in Saudi (early 80’s) I am not surprised. I am surprised there was an intact body to even identify. You would of had to been there to understand this. Heck, during the time I was there driver safety week became driver safety month. The best performance art anyone could ask for.
Wood you guys stop with the puns! You’re gonna cause me to branch off of this thread.
This is going to be a good thread. :-)
Serious question first. Am I understanding this? Some Muslim women keep their faces covered with a veil during sex? The next question begs to be asked........do they get undressed? Or are there T&A flaps?
Are they allowed to enjoy sex or are they inflatable dolls with ovaries and a uterus?
This is just mindboggling. I cannot believe how backwards some societies are.
My favorite was a large roundabout ( traffic circle ) that had a big sign declaring “The One Coming From Left Of Center Has Priority.” We have the same sign only more to the point. It's called “Yield.”
They don’t have to wear a veil in their own homes but I think if non family member guests are there they may at times be asked to cover up. A Saudi who has lived elsewhere, especially the US is less likely to require that.
