Karl Rove Slams Huckabee and Palin for Characterizing Bushes as “Elitists,” and “Bluebloods” – Audio

Here is audio of Karl Rove talking to Laura Ingraham where he blasted Sarah Palin and Mike Huckabee for their recent comments characterizing the Bushes (George H.W. and Barbara) as “elitists,” and “bluebloods.” Palin used the term “bluebloods” after Barbara Bush said in an interview she hopes Palin stays in Alaska.

Rove was asked what he thought about Palin’s and Huckabee’s remarks, and he flatly said it was “unnecessary.” Rove said Barbara Bush is “entitled to her opinion” and she deserves “respect.” According to Rove, Palin would have been far better off to simply say she loves the former First Lady and “move on.”

Laura Ingraham came to Palin’s defense, telling Rove that the point of Palin’s remark is that the “elitists” don’t want Palin to run.

Ummm .... As I recall, Christine O'Donnell DID crash and burn in the 2010 Delaware election exactly like she crashed and burned in the 2008 Delaware election.

Delaware is one of the most liberal states in the Union. Running a true conservative in Delaware is like running a true liberal in Alabama ...... just plain stupid.

I never did like any of the Bushes. I rallied behind W during the recount and have grown to dislike him as much as I disliked his “read my lips” daddy.

***********

Othe than a small tax cut, and a few judges, and some nice words on abortion, he presided as a democrat.

The Blue Blood club is dying, so Rove frantically tries to defend it.

I will review Sarah’s Ping List and send you the names of a couple of members who also post at C4P so that they might be able to help you.

The Bush family home at Walker's Point would indicate that GHWB's mother was also "blue blood."

I have always thought that GHWB is more of a gentleman than Bar is a lady.

I like Barbara but she made a gratuitous, catty remark about Sarah and Sarah made a gracious but truthful response.

If you don’t want the fight, Momma Bush, then don’t start it.

You’re right, Todd, re: C4P comment section. We’ve been hashing it out for months now.

But C4P is switching to WordPress over the weekend, so the comments section should be much better soon!!

Hooray! :)

Oh heck no, FR is my go-to! Right here is the best website of all time in my book. Found it running up to the election in 2008. I thought after the A**clown won the presidency I would be out of following politics again like I was from ‘93 to 2000, but I couldn’t stay away from FR. Thanks Onyx!

Palin probably does not love Barbara. Sarah is not one to fawn over bluebloods.

Actually it is pretty good strategy on Palin’s part. She will not only run against the democrats but she is setting herself up to run against the establishment Republican who have been running the party the last 20 years. Independents will like this.

Best I can tell is it is from either the '88 or '92 Bush campaign. Note Roves lapel pin. I posted that to show that Rove has always worked for the Bushes. Bush 1 groomed Rove and Atwater while they were with the collage Repubs in the 70's. One thing I might give Rove a pass on is loyalty. I hated Nixon because he was a huge progressive, but I love G Gordon Liddy because of his unwavering loyalty to him no matter what.

Too bad Rove didn't follow Atwater in class and style

Those were the golden years for the modern Republican party. Reagan and Atwater. I figured it was either 88 or 92 due to the Bush lapel pin, but then figured it could have been anywhere from the Bush 1980 run up to the Job and W campaigns for governor. I suspect you are correct that it one of HW’s presidential runs in 88 or 92. I also got your message that it was symbolizing the close relationship between the Bush’s and Rove. As you said loyalty is a positive trait. The weird thing is that Rove keeps ending up in the position of aggressively defending the establishment status quo in the party. But yet he doesn’t consider himself part of that group.
