The media loves any story that has to do with the Palins and sex. Especially Bristol Palin, famously an unwed mother, though sometimes the comments veer toward underage Willow.
Journalists do everything but hang a scarlet A on the girl, who has shown remarkable poise throughout other than briefly considering committing her life to Levi Johnston again. Of course, the media makes a commitment to Levi every chance it gets.
Of course, at its core besides Palin Derangement Syndrome of a particularly perverse strain is the notion that only people with standards should be held to any. So, since Bristol Palins beliefs say she shouldnt do what she did, its open season.
If only the perfect are allowed to preach, then sinners dont have to worry about ever being confronted with their actions.

I like Sarah alot but I think the two daughters are disrespectful to their Mother. Watch an episode of Alaska and you’ll see what I mean. I think they will continue to be a problem for Sarah if she runs for higher office. If I were Sarah, I’d wait another 6 years, when they should be on their own, before running for office. Little Piper loves her Momma and will be a different type of teenager.
Seven months after Election Day, and the attacks on Sarah Palin keep coming.
On Monday, CBS's David Letterman on the "Late Show" shamelessly went after the Alaska governor and her family during his opening monologue, as well as in his "Top Ten" list.

"One awkward moment for Sarah Palin at the Yankee game, during the seventh inning, her daughter was knocked-up by Alex Rodriguez."

Sandra Bernhard issued a blistering warning to Sarah Palin during a performance of her new one-woman show.
The Republican V.P. nom would be "gang-raped by my big black brothers" if she enters Manhattan, Bernhard said. Palin is said to be making a campaign stop in New York next week.
"[The gang rape comment] is part of a much larger, nuanced, and yes, provocative (that's what I do) piece from my show about racism, freedom, women's rights and the extreme views of Governor Sarah Palin, a woman who doesn't believe that other women should have the right to choose," Bernhard told the Daily News today.
Olby’s a mental midget.
Boy, that's the truth, isn't it?
This is another example of the Left judging us by our own sense of morality. This cretin diesn’t believe in ANY traditional values: he is a commie and only vlieves in “social justice and the ends justifies the means.”
If the young woman in question were a LEFTIST, she would be applauded for any foray into depravity that the human mind could summon. She would be BEST PERSON IOF THE WEEK if she killed her own children-—as long as she was a Democrat, er, COMMUNIST.
The purpose of these hit pieces is to cause damage to Sarah’s reputation with US because we have some sense of morality even though he doesn’t. But since we know the game, it won’t work. OBERMONSTER can go stick it where the sun don’t shine.

*I’ll leave for you, Keith, and for those of you scoring at home (or even by yourself) the question of which part of that act was more heinous...that she was having sex out of wedlock, or that she was having it with Levi Johnston.
Mr. Olbermann—Sorry We Can’t All Be As Perfect As You
by Bristol Palin on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 12:11pm
Recently, a left wing commentator named Keith Olbermann attacked me for being a spokesperson for abstinence education and for being an Ambassador for the Candies Foundation, which promotes teen pregnancy awareness and prevention education. He went so far as to call me “the worst person” he knows, apparently, for my efforts to educate teenagers about the real world risks of premarital sex.
Accusing me of hypocrisy is by now, an old canard. What Mr. Olbermann lacks in originality he makes up for with insincere incredulity. Mr. Olbermann fails to understand that in order to have credibility as a spokesperson, it sometimes takes a person who has made mistakes. Parents warn their children about the mistakes they made so they are not repeated. Former gang members travel to schools to educate teenagers about the risks of gang life. Recovered addicts lecture to others about the risks of alcohol and drug abuse. And yes, a teen mother talks about the benefits of preventing teen pregnancy.
I have never claimed to be perfect. If that makes me the “worst person in the world” to Mr. Olbermann, then I must apologize for not being absolutely faultless like he undoubtedly must be.
To Mr. Olbermann let me say this: you can attack me all you want. But you will not stop me from getting my message out about teen pregnancy prevention. And one day, if you ever have a daughter, you may change your mind about me.
Bristol Palin
(God how I hate that phrase though).
Sarah (now Bristol too) a walking talking harpy detector.
Sarah Palin is representative of the best of the middle class....self-reliant, hard working, moral and patriotic. Naturally, the left hates her - with great passion. They can't convincingly oppose most of her common sense political positions so they resort to what they do reflexively: they ridicule her and pretend that the woman is an idiot - and isn't she funny? The acquiescent media, liberals all, dutifully parrot the ridicule and other attacks, giving them a wide circulation. Hollywood comedians get into the act, scoring points with their leftist brethren. Fortunately, the American public has finally caught on to the 'dinosaur' media's longstanding left-wing bias. It is dying and in the process losing a large chunk of it's credibility. Still, the 'lamestream' media has an audience, albeit a steadily shrinking one. Even so, Sarah Palin has become a savvy politician and knows how to use the 'alternative media'. Her TV series 'Sarah Palin's Alaska', a travelogue on Alaska, is a great way to showcase her 'personal' life, her family and her non-political interests and show Americans that she is a 'regular' person, not some phony, focus-group-researched ice queen (like Hillary Clinton) or a product of a PR team and clever speech writers, like Obama. Sarah Palin has an occasional spot as a political commentator on Fox News, giving her another opportunity to expouse her political views. Both TV gigs pay well, I'm sure, which is a great way for Sarah Palin to laugh back at her leftist detractors. Palin's first book was a smash best-seller (millions sold) and so is her latest, both helping to make her better known to the general public as well as fattening her bank account, which is also likely to annoy her 'progressive' enemies.
The attacks on Bristol Palin have been harsh and typical when anyone who professes a moral compass falls, as Bristol did when she had intimate relations with her then-teenage boyfriend and became pregnant. That the girl did the right thing and kept the baby and is attempting to raise it on her own (with much family help, I'm sure) is admirable but of course, not to the left. They hate Bristol, too. A lot for a 20-year-old girl from Alaska to deal with but so far, she's handled it as well as could be expected. Her long run on the TV show 'Dancing with the Stars' was a great way to show that she was not going to be intimidated and I applaud Bristol for that.
Like many, I believe that Sarh Palin has a credible chance at securing the 2012 GOP presidential nomination, despite the old guard elites being lined up against her (they like Mitt Romney, who 'looks presidential'). I believe that Sarah Palin would make a splendid president, a refreshing breath of fresh air after Obama and a decidedly more patriotic president, too. Will she run? Can she win? These questions will be asked a million times in the following months and eventually they'll be answered - by Sarah Palin. Doing it her way and likely confounding many.
You do know that the show is edited? Not everything happens in real time. Each time the camera cuts to a reaction shot, the reaction wasn’t necessarily intended for the comment that was previously made. You sound as if you spend a lot of time watching (and discussing) soap operas and Jerry Springer shows.
A scarlet “A” is for adultery, not teen sex.
I agree. Especially Bristol.
