US President Barack Obama has called on the US Senate to pass legislation allowing gays and lesbians to serve openly in the military following the release of a report backing a change in policy by the Department of Defence.
The nine month Pentagon study found that seventy percent of armed forces personnel did not believe a change in the policy would effect unit cohesion.
“With our nation at war and so many Americans serving on the front lines, our troops and their families deserve the certainty that can only come when an act of Congress ends this discriminatory policy once and for all,” said Obama.
“The House of Representatives has already passed the necessary legislation … I call on the Senate to act as soon as possible so I can sign this repeal into law this year and ensure that Americans who are willing to risk their lives for their country are treated fairly and equally.”
Democratic Senate Majority leader Harry Reid has vowed to hold a vote on the bill this month.
Four Republican Senators have already declared their support for ending the policy, however a small number of Democrats may oppose the bill so the outcome remains uncertain.

Obama and Emanuel: Members of same gay bath house in Chicago
President Obama and his chief of staff Rahm Emanuel are lifetime members of the same gay bath house in uptown Chicago, according to informed sources in Chicago’s gay community, as well as veteran political sources in the city.
The bath house, Man’s Country, caters to older white men and it has been in business for some 30 years and is known as one of uptown Chicago’s “grand old bathhouses.” WMR was told by sources who are familiar with the bath house that it provides one-year “lifetime” memberships to paying customers and that the club’s computerized files and pre-computer paper files, include membership information for both Obama and Emanuel. The data is as anonymized as possible for confidentiality purposes. However, sources close to “Man’s Country” believe the U.S. Secret Service has purged the computer and filing cabinet files of the membership data on Obama and Emanuel.
Members of Man’s Country are also issued club identification cards. WMR learned that Obama and Emanuel possessed the ID cards, which were required for entry.
Obama began frequenting Man’s Country in the mid-1990s, during the time he transitioned from a lecturer at the University of Chicago Law School to his election as an Illinois State Senator in 1996. Emanuel, reportedly joined Man’s Country after he left the Clinton White Hosue and moved back to Chicago in 1998, joining the investment firm of Wasserstein Perella and maintaining his membership during his 2002 campaign for the U.S. 5th District House seat vacated by Rod Blagojevich, who was elected governor.
Man’s Country appears to be a “one stop shopping” center for gay men. The club’s website advertises steam rooms, “fantasy rooms,” bed rooms, male strippers, adult movies, and lockers.

A couple of thoughts. One, DADT is indeed a bad thing; I'll copy a recent comment from someone who was in the service at that time. So, it should be repealed, and the standard should revert to "Ask, tell, and wrong answer means out the door".
Second, people need to FIGHT BACK against this (and all other) evil and destructive leftist agendas. Cowardice and fatalism is WRONG and helps the enemies of freedom and truth.

To these miscreants, their sex lives are everything. EVERYTHING. It is who they are and defines every aspect of their lives. Their lives revolve around their sex drive and preference. They seem to generally loathe themselves and are unfulfilled, needing to be the center of attention at all times; good or bad, attention is attention to them. They desperately want acceptance, but deep down know that what they do is not acceptable. So, they have chosen to take steps to forcefully legitimize their illegitimate lifestyle by seeking positions of power (such as becoming judges), positions in the entertainment business (money, power, and advertising), and heavy lobbying.
The homosexual agenda encompasses destroying all vestiges of the society that has shunned them, at any cost, and it is proceeding merrily along its way with the help of the “elites” who know just how badly it will weaken our nation. The military has long been in their cross-hairs. On the one hand, gays were able to lie and get into the military, playing covert games where the risk of being caught was exciting, like the rich girl who shoplifts. But, DADT made them keep their mouths shut while giving them what they said they wanted, so the game became less fun.
I was still in the Army when DADT was implemented. You should have heard the uproar. It was loudest in the combat arms, especially the infantry where I was. No soldier I knew would have served willingly with open gays in the Army. There was an exodus of soldiers at that time, but nothing like we will see if DADT is repealed and open gays are allowed in the service.
