The WikiLeaks documents show that Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has, as Voltaire said about the Bourbon kings of France, learned nothing and forgotten nothing. Her request that American diplomats at foreign postings and the United Nations gather personal data about their foreign counterparts is eerily reminiscent of her use of private detectives to unearth negative information on those who were politically inconvenient during the husbands campaigns for president and his White House tenure.
At the time, I called these operatives, the secret police. Now, apparently, we call them the diplomatic corps.
The WikiLeaks documents show that you can not only not teach an old dog new tricks, but you cant stop her from doing the ones she has always done.
The WikiLeaks information indicates that Hillary and her predecessor Condolleeza Rice instructed American diplomats to gather information about office and organizational titles; names, position titles and other information on business cards; numbers of telephones, cellphones, pagers, and faxes, as well as internet and intranet handles; internet e-mail addresses, web site identification-URLs; credit card account numbers; frequent-flier account numbers; work schedules, and other relevant biographical information.
The New York Times explains that this information could be used to develop intelligence about the activities and whereabouts of foreign diplomatic personnel.

Sorry, but I think this is the way we should operate. The fact that it becomes public should surprise no one, including the supposed victims. Don’t you think that many foreign govts have files on our diplomats and politician’s? No telling when you might need that info. NSA can tap into a lot of info with cell phone numbers, email id’s, credit card numbers etc. Hopefully, we also collect their dna and finger prints also. Retina scans?
Other than the credit card account information, this sounds pretty innocuous.
I’m sure many foreign governments have a lot on 0bama.
I'm sorry, but I can't wrap my mind around the picture of Hillary performing tricks. I'd hate to bump into her on a streetcorner.
“Now, apparently, we call them the diplomatic corps.”
Obama calls it the “diplomatic corpse.”
Yep. I sure hope our diplomats here and in country gather all the data points they can regarding foreign officials. It’s kinda their job.
I agree. I want to know who is behind the leaks?
My money is on BO, in an effort to sabotage her 2012 run.
Morris certainly has it in for Hillary - I’ve got to wonder if she was responsible for getting the toe-sucking story out?
Maybe CIA isn’t as loose with its files as the FBI was with theirs.
Hmmmmm...interesting. One civilian partnering with one military person. What are the odds.
