The media just loves to hate Sarah Palin. And, if polls are to be believed, the constant media bombardment has hurt her standing among many independents.
Unfortunately, over the last couple of weeks, even conservative media pundits such as Mona Charen, Peggy Noonan, George Will, Joe Scarborough and Matt Labash see these attacks and warn that she cant win the presidency. They even buy into the attacks on her judgment, intelligence, and competence. But what these conservatives dont appreciate is that Palin is being attacked because she is smart and effective, not because she is dumb.
For just how far off base her coverage by the media has been, consider the reaction when Sarah Palin, a Fox News contributor and former Alaska governor, last Wednesday accidentally referred to North Korea as an ally. It was an obvious slip of the tongue and she corrected the trivial gaffe immediately in her very next sentence. The local, national, and even international news coverage was massive, making the trivial error front-page news. A Google news search finds 834 separate news stories run just that day alone.
This is just the surface of the attacks. . . . .

These are NOT conservatives;they are ruling-class republicans and liberal bootlickers.
George Will hates Palin because she refuses to accept his advise. He wanted her to go back to Alaska to study up and govern. She was, in short, to get a make-over that would make her presentable to his crowd. The problem was that her enemies climbed all over her once she got back. The Republican Establishment hated her because she was not one of them. The Democrats, who had been her allies, were now against her. The DNC followed her back and began to fund hit squads that would take her out once and for all. As for the study,Palin is not an intellectual. Reminding of a story from Bill Herndon’s biography of Lincoln. Herndon was a voracioius reader. Hw would get crates of books from the East. Sometimes he would hand one to Lincoln. Lincoln would look at a few pages and then hand it back. Herndon said he never saw Lincoln read anything except legal papers and political newspapers. Easterners thought of Lincoln as rude, crude and vulgar. Lincoln was as sure of his superiority of them as Palin seems to be sure of her own. If I had to decide who would be the captain of my ship, I sure would chose Palin over Will.
Plain and simple. Scared chitless of her.
She’s the highest stature conservative Republican.
Because she is not highly educated.
Some people don’t need a pedigree to know things and to think rightly.
What amazes me is how fearless Palin is. Sometimes she scares me.
These people (moderate-republican pundits) are the REAL target of all the anti-Palin vitriol. If you can move them, then you can leverage the entire independent bloc and even some of the wishy-washy rank & file replublicans (country-clubbers).
It's all about "being cool" on the cocktail circuit. Look at the commercial-break photos of Joe Scarborough and his co-host in various urban poses wearing chic sunglasses. In my minds-eye I see two twerps that sat at the un-cool lunch table in High School and have been trying to make up for their deficiencies ever since.

Palin is very serious about the presidency. Yes, she loves her family but also loves her country. If you read Going Rogue, you will have a better understanding of what makes the Palins tick. If Sarah Palin does run and is elected, she will go to serve and not to be served.
They’re not picking on her. They’re trying to destroy her with a thousand cuts. Lies, ridicule, innuendo. All to tarnish her name so that she will never be taken seriously for national office.
The media is totally irresponsible.
Neither was Sam Houston. Yet among the people that Tocqueville met on his travels in America, no one impressed him more except maybe John Quincy Adams. No doubt in my mind that if Sam Houston had been elected President in 1852/1856 that civili war would have been averted.
“This is just the surface of the attacks.”
Their favorite, of course, is to laugh at her for saying that she can see Russia from her house.
She said it to make a point that Russian land, is indeed, only THREE miles from Alaskan land. (Diomede islands)
I know, and I thank God for them everyday...what would we do without those real Americans?
There are so few left in government....it really shows too.
Because if they didn't, they would be out of the job for good!
Mark Levin is reading this article right now.
Great job John, thanks for the post.

You’re probably right.
Anyone who isn’t a democrat who opens their mouth is a subject to be attacked.
A fact of life.
