Charlie Cook: “Obama has to Pray every Night for Republicans to Nominate Sarah Palin” – Video

Here is video of renowned political prognosticator Charlie Cook reacting to President Obama’s recent arrogant assertion that, “I don’t think about Sarah Palin.” Cook told MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell that Obama “has to pray every night for Republicans to nominate Sarah Palin,” because she is a “no fly zone” for Independent voters according to him. Obama was dismissive of Palin after being asked if he thought he could beat her in a potential 2012 matchup for President. Cook cited Palin’s poor showing in polls among Independent voters as the reason why Obama has to be hoping for a Palin nomination in 2012.

Obama had better be careful what he wishes for.

I believe Palin is about the only person Hussein can beat, as things stand right now.

I believe exactly the opposite.

They’re engaging in reverse psychology.

That is exactly right! It is a very transparent tactic. It won't work.

Because Carter’s aides are convinced that the conservative, 68-year-old former California governor is an easy target. (April 2, 1979)”

... thanks Al, more proof that the Alinskyites are sure we’re stupid and have no memory. How’d that work out for them last time? Just like Hollywierd, same scrip with different actors and seldom an improvement over the original...

ymmv

That can only work if the Republican party puts up a RINO like McCain or Romney.

Really? Last time around, they DID put up McCain and there was no significant 3rd party challenge from the right. Further, down the stretch in the primaries, when McCain was leading, who was the officially sanctioned anti-McCain vote, the candidate Limbaugh and others were settling on? Romney. Wasn't Ann Coulter for Romney as well?

So why would the same two guys spawn any different response from GOP voters at large?

You will NEVER be able to explain why you quit as Governor of Alaska.

She already has.

They will claim that you can’t take the heat and it doesn’t matter what you say in defense.

She didn't exactly cower and hide away now did she.
Everything she says makes the blood of the members of the MSM boil.

You are viewed as a quitter.

Sarah Palin, not heard from or seen since being governor.

What is she doing these days anyway?/s

You have nothing to judge her on and 0bama already has both parties turning against him. You have nothing but RINO progressive talking points to spew and no strategic points to make. You are free to believe them but your argument is built on slippery sand.

Um, they outnumbered us last time, and will again is my only concern. No need to get so defensive or nasty.

We're all going to see the difference between Palin and Reagan if she gets the nomination. Reagan's 1980 victory was absolutely massive. The electoral totals were 489-49, and that was with a significant 3rd party candidate on the ballot. I can't see Palin delivering anything like that.

GOP in BLUE

No need to get so defensive or nasty.

I dislike arguing with fellow conservatives. I FReep regularly, follow the threads and still I am looking for some strategic arguments beyond what you have offered so far. I tire of the kind of sniping I see from the posts the three of you have made. That's all I'm saying. Defensive or nasty has nothing to do with it. So far the positions are still lacking.

Hillary plays the role of Ted Kennedy this time around?

Could be. Hope there's bad blood like 1980 where the Kennedy family hated Carter so much they voted for Reagan and one of their faithful supporters delivered Carter's debate briefing book to the Reagan campaign. LOL.

We'll also likely get a crowded GOP field replete with Blue Blood ruling-class types like GHW Bush (Romney) to try and take down the frontrunner with overwhelming numbers.

Not sure who this year's 'Phil Crane' will be, though.

Especially because Republican Party ‘Leaders’ don’t really want regular Americans to have control of the country. They love big government socialism as much as the democrats; they just want to be in control of what gets socialized.

Sarah is the fly in the ointment of the New World Progressive Order.

And I keep asking this again and again: Why can’t Sarah run? Everyone keeps telling her to sit down and shut up. Why doesn’t Donald Trump sit down and shut up? How about Ron Paul? Jindal? Cantor? They are all magnificent leaders? How about Rubio? He’s been a senator for 5 minutes and already they are tossing his name out as the Vice Presidential nominee. Besides his hispanic heritage what grand accomplishments does he brought to the debate?

If she wants to run she should run - on her own terms.

I would rather her continue in her present role too. She’s doing a great job, and at the moment, her chance of winning the presidency looks slim. Among non-GOP voters, her unfavorable rating is too high.

I can't see Palin delivering anything like that.

I don't know that Palin can deliver Reagan-sized votes either.

Do you see ANY conservative that can do better than Palin, though?

Who? Why?

You sniped... .

My "strategic arguement" can't be denied now can it? Personally I like her, a great deal.

Barack Obama has brought more power into DC than Abraham Lincoln, Woodrow Wilson, Franklin Roosevelt and Lyndon Johnson altogether.

You think the MSM shilled for him in 2008? You haven’t seen nothing compared to whats coming.

If DC has ANY say whatsoever..the Rinocratic Oligarchy isn’t going to let their golden boy go anywhere. Neither will they willingly give back ANY power.

We the People have our work cut out. 2008 was a literal drop in the bucket if we intend to have our country back. It will be a multi-election cycle effort that will require well-delineated gains each time. It will start in each of the local election precincts in each state..because the fraud by which Blue-states keep electing Red candidates is rooted in the community.

Most on FreeRepublic can’t begin to imagine the kind of pre-election runup the powers that be are gonna give ‘Bammy...and what’ve you’ve seen dumped on Palin so far...is just a minimum of what’s to come.

Charlie Cook is a Democrat. So what do you expect? None of those Democrat or Republican pundits saw what was coming in 2010 two years ago. I did!!! And.....I’ll tell you this right now, if Sarah Palin runs for POTUS and chooses Marco Rubio for her VP Candidate, Palin/Rubio win, big time!!! The Democrat Party has once again slit their own political throats by not forcing Obama to resign, keeping Pelosi and Reid as their leaders and wasting their “lame duck” session playing with DOA bills and legislation.
