Huckabee: Palin May Run Away With It
Mike Huckabee was in Iowa today for an event with an Iowa social conservative group that he made clear was a political event. In numerous statements, he has implied as strong as he is can that he is gearing up for another run at the White House in 2012. He even sent a secret signal to his supporters by wearing a purple tie. An inside joke among his devotes is that wearing a purple tie is a signal that he is likely running in 2012.
In his meeting with reporters, he indicated that he certainly takes a potential challenge from Sarah Palin seriously. From the Des Moines Register blog
No question, she will be a very, very strong presence and force, if she gets in, Huckabee told reporters in Des Moines Sunday. You know, she may run away with it. And thats one of those things everyone needs to be prepared for.
If I get in, I prefer she not and that she endorse me, Huckabee then joked.
Palin will be in Little Rock for her book tour on Tuesday, November 30 at 5:30 pm at Sams. No word if she will meet with the press but this might be something to ask her about.
"White House political strategists have concludedregretfullythat Ronald Reagan is fading and will have little chance of winning the Republican presidential nomination in 1980. Why the regrets? Because Carter's aides are convinced that the conservative, 68-year-old former California governor is an easy target. (April 2, 1979)"
If Palin chose a conservative black man as he rVP running mate, the blacks would abandon Obastard in droves.
Why do these idiots even log onto this site. If you trash Sarah Palin, you are not a conservative period !
You must be very smart to call her a dunce
There’s a huge difference between the world of 1980 and the world of 2010.
that is an excellent idea. Only problem is, who? Allen West? not sure enough balance there.
You think ? Wow. We really needed to know that. Give us some more important advice..
im tired of you Palin haters
“That is the dumbest insult to throw at a fellow Freeper. Why do you have to ask for him/her to compare personal accomplishments against people aspiring to be POTUS?”
Calling the GOP forerunner a dunce invites such a question. Only a dunce (or in this case, a troll) would call Sarah Palin, an accomplished woman who has made history in 2008 and 2010 (and will likely do so again in 2012), a dunce. She has had more of an impact on American politics and policy than that particular person or anyone else of his ilk, and to deny same is nothing short of ignorant.
You don’t have to be a supporter of hers, a “Palin bot” as you call us, to acknowledge the gigantic impact she has had.
Failure to acknowledge it bespeaks a detachment from reality. Resorting to baseless pejoratives like “dunce” evinces a meanness that invites fair reply.
Anyone can sign up to be a freeper. Merely signing up does not invest a person with either wisdom or integrity. And it certainly doesn’t shield that person from appropriate editorial scolding when he says something that is both untrue and rude.
So has Snookie
Don’t compare a well accomplished well respected conservative christian woman to snookie. That is the most moronic thing I have ever seen.
This poster has no idea about Sarah Palin. S/he is holding out for Mitch Daniels.
I like Thomas Sowell although I think he would make a better chief of staff.
You know, that type of talk doesn't help your point of view in any way, shape, or form. Perhaps when you grow up, and learn to control your knee when it jerks, then you'll be able to look at the world we live in from something other than your narrow bias. Other than being on the other side of the fence, you're no different than the lib-bots.
Sarah Palin has found her niche; she makes a fantastic media personality, and fundraiser. She's much like Rush in this manner. However, there are far too many negatives from a mainstream perspective for her to be elected president.
Would I vote for her in the primaries? Perhaps, it depends on who is running.
Would I vote for her in the general election? You betcha.
If Huckabee would give up the idea of running himself, he could be very helpful. Unfortunately, I don’t read him as that kind of guy. He is about as selfless as a snake oil salesman.
He had a liberal record while he was governor. He pardoned numerous murderers, one of whom went out to the Northwest and indulged himself in a little cop killing. The story I heard was that the reason he pardoned those particular murderers was that he got assurances from some black pastors that their flocks would vote for him.
He hasn’t a chance of winning, any more than he did last time. Less than last time, in fact. But I can’t seem him doing anything helpful. It’s not in his nature.
“So has Snookie”
Pathetic. Is it her prolife stand that infuriates you? Or is it your crush on Mittens?
Realistically, Palin is our only hope for a conservative nominee.
The elites want Romney, and they usually get who they want. (See: Nixon, Ford, Dole, Bush, McCain)
Only twice in history have the conservative grass roots of the party been able to overcome the wishes of the establishment to garner the nomination, 1964 with Goldwater, and 1980 with Reagan.
Both were derided as crazy, dumb, unelectable, and were the preferred candidates by the democrats, who thought they would be easy to beat.
Real conservatives are ALWAYS portrayed as dunces...it is a false smear, Palin is pretty damn savvy, as was Reagan, BTW.
So if you want to go along with the establishment elites, the liberal media, and the beltway crowd, just keep believing Sarah is a dunce.
Or you could read her book, research her accomplishments (which are impressive) and quit letting the mainstream narrative guide your life. This is the approach many in the Tea Party have taken, and it worked out okay in the 2010 elections.
If we, as conservatives, split our vote among three or four conservative candidates, that will leave the ‘moderates’ an easy run to the nomination (as happened in 2008)
I’ve read many a post on here complaining about the Republican party nominating RINO’s like McCain, some even saying if they do it again they will leave the party....what they fail to understand is, conservatives (us) not coming together and getting behind a winning candidate is what allows these RINO’s in.
LOL not in this context, Palin is the frontrunner for the primary, and that is a rare place for conservatives to be, usually we are backing some unknown that we know is only going to make a token showing in the primary, not win it.
2012 looks great for conservatives.!
Palin is a dunce? Seems when it comes to conservatism - you are lacking; so it is YOU wearing the dunce cap!
Ah the HospiceRN attacks again....you really love trolling Palin threads eh?
