DeMint is awesome. But, I doubd he can get far.

Christie is unlikely to run.

Newt is a brilliant man and a policy wonk. As a person, I don’t like him. And, I think he is a polarizing figure.

I don’t remember underestimating or ridiculing Ronald Reagan when I voted for him in 1980.

Ronald was a great man, and while the opposition thought he was too far right to win the nomination, and he was attacked by the left for a lack of intellect, it was all posing, as they knew better.

He was an accomplished actor, with a stellar career. He also worked his way up to being President of the Screen Actor’s Guild, which he served for years: “Issues - Guild, national, and international - during Reagan’s presidencies and board terms, 1946 - 1960, were among the most vast and complicated in the Guild’s history”

He then was elected Governor of the most populous state in the country, and served that state well, proving his ability as an electable leader.

The guy had a resume as long as his strong arms — when he ran for President, NOBODY could question his ability to lead this country.

I get a little tired of this story that Reagan wasn’t expected to be able to be a leader.

Gawd what a knee-jerk response.

A cursory glace at my posting history could have prevented you from posting such drivel.

Hank, I don't have to look at your posting history to know that you're down on Sarah Palin. You frequent these threads, posting the same debunked attack points about her, over and over again.

You repeat the same tired mantras about her that the leftstream media does. The only difference, is that you do it in the pose of a "concerned" conservative.

If you were really all that concerned, you'd read all of the stuff that myself and others have posted to you about Palin, but you don't. You keep right on rolling, posting the same debunked attacks, over and over and over again.

"Knee-jerk response"? Hardly.

Well I could certainly live with your ticket.

I like Palin. I agree with her I suspect on 90% of the issues....and am far to the right of her on the remaining 10%. That said, the cultlike quality of her following here is a bit strange.

If she gets the nomination I’ll root like hell for her. I’d work for her if it helps, but I live in Texas and the GOP nominee with carry Texas whomever is chosen. Alas, I fear the numbers show she simply cannot win. There was a Quinnipiac poll released today that showed she has over 50% unfavorables with independents, something like 50% disapprove to 30% approve. That doesn’t bode well. She’d better turn that around if we’re to avoid a route.

It’s really odd that voicing any reservations about Palin, no matter how grounded in fact, brand you as an Enemy of the People to some here. Hey, I like Gingrich but the same applies to him as Palin as far as electability is concerned. I happen to think he’s brilliant....but he probably can’t win either. Though I’d LOVE to see him debate Obummer. Palin, not so much.

Cheers,
Hank

"Good old fashioned misogynism...."

Good grief.

If you can't read a comment like "I blame women. I’m not sure that giving them the vote was such a good idea,” and understand that it isn't intended literally, I think you may be suffering from a bad case of Irony Deficiency.

Lighten, up, Francis.

Hank
