Huckabee: Palin May Run Away With It
Mike Huckabee was in Iowa today for an event with an Iowa social conservative group that he made clear was a political event. In numerous statements, he has implied as strong as he is can that he is gearing up for another run at the White House in 2012. He even sent a secret signal to his supporters by wearing a purple tie. An inside joke among his devotes is that wearing a purple tie is a signal that he is likely running in 2012.
In his meeting with reporters, he indicated that he certainly takes a potential challenge from Sarah Palin seriously. From the Des Moines Register blog
No question, she will be a very, very strong presence and force, if she gets in, Huckabee told reporters in Des Moines Sunday. You know, she may run away with it. And thats one of those things everyone needs to be prepared for.
If I get in, I prefer she not and that she endorse me, Huckabee then joked.
Palin will be in Little Rock for her book tour on Tuesday, November 30 at 5:30 pm at Sams. No word if she will meet with the press but this might be something to ask her about.
You out yourself with that comment. It's boilerplate liberal-speak, and in fact, was spewed by some anti-conservative on TV just the other day.
I've posted Palin's writings, her record, and a link to her Anaheim speech to you recently, yet despite having been given that informative data, you still have the gall to make that baseless charge today.
That only means that you're some sort of plant, Hank. No conservative who has actually listened to Sarah Palin, or who has reviewed her record, would say what you just did.
I didn't want to look them up for the maroon (who calls himself a conservative) I just wanted to be the first to chime in the truth on the matter....
Heh heh heh......I beat you all....
:-)
;-)
“Heh heh heh......I beat you all.”
True, Lakeshark. You beat us but you whomped hell out of Kimball. Thanks.
Not.
Smart.
I got detained on the LIVE thread which is still going strong. Looks like the troll called it a night...lol.
“Looks like the troll called it a night...lol.”
Yea. Lakeshark silenced him. And Hospice Nurse just slunk away as usual.
This was at the Tea Party Express rally in Reno, NV last week (Go Sharron Angle!). The lady in the cowboy hat with the sweet smile is my wife Sheila. And that’s Syncro’s left eyeball in the upper left as he focuses his video camera.
Sarah was introduced to me by Sal Russo (leader of the Tea Party Express) who introduced me as Jim Robinson from freerepublic.com. She said thank you for all you guys have done, then leaned forward and gave me a little cheek to cheek hug. I took it as she loves the FReepers and pass it on to all of you!!
Woo hoo!! FR is Palin Country!!
Oh, there was more than one troll? Wow.
Mean ole Sharky.
Oh yes, Sarah should have responded to Charlie Gibson like a dutiful school girl, and recited the definition of The Bush Doctrine to prove to him that she wasn’t stupid.
Perhaps you missed what actually happened in that exchange, but most of us saw that Gibson and his producers set Sarah up to look small, and under the withering interrogation of the “superior” and “professorial” Charlie Gibson.
The camera angles, the seating arrangement, Gibson’s looking over his bi-focals at her, the interrogation style questioning, Gibson’s body language and exaggerated facial expressions, the editing - it was all produced to make Sarah come off like a pathetic little fool.
Sarah knew full well what The Bush Doctrine was, but was reacting to the obvious ‘gotcha’ tactics of Gibson. If she hadn’t been on camera, she likely would have clocked his ass for being such an arrogant, deceitful scumbag.
You do realize, of course, that much as I admire what he was in 1964, the whole Goldwater thing didnt work out so well, though...right?
So you're saying...we should just quit trying to nominate conservatives? Is that your point?
I personally believe Goldwater's "problem' was the country was voting a sympathy vote after the Kennedy assassination, and no Republican could have won that year...it was a long time ago and I was very small, but that is my impression.
I will say I believe the population of this country has a conservative majority that would rally around a decent, honest conservative candidate that openly spelled out their vision for America. Some one with clearly defined values and a love of this country as it was founded. Add an incredible family and a track record of accomplishments (that are going unnoticed now...wait for the campaign!) and she can win in a landslide.
My dream ticket: Palin/Rubio ... the two hottest rising stars in conservative America.
I don’t believe I can be credibly accused of being a “palinbot”, but I echo the question.
The original poster accused Palin of being a “dunce”, which is a PERSONAL slam on her intelligence. It is NOT a slam on her political acumen, nor her ability to win an election, but is a PERSONAL slam that says she is not intelligent. It is a judgment against which every individual can be measured.
Therefore, asking the one that offers such an insult how they personally compare to her accomplishments is fair game.
Note: This does NOT include observations about her political organizing/decision making skills, nor her fit with the electorate.
This was more about Huckabee lowering his own expectations for Iowa than it was praising Palin. Huckabee burst onto the national scene after his Iowa performance last time around, and he knows Palin could be a serious threat to him in the future. I really wish he wouldn't run again. His liberal and dangerous clemency record back in Arkansas is something I wouldn't be able to overlook even if he was just the vice presidential candidate on the ticket.
No. Please don't.

County Agent Hank Kimball needs an explanation.
IMHO, Herman Cain was never a plantation escapee because he was never captive there in the first place.
Vat tax Mitch?
Even worse, as far as most black voters are concerned.
