An interesting piece by Nate Silver at the New York Times. Silver compares Governor Palin's web traffic to other potential 2012 candidates and finds that there is no comparison:

I am not sure what that means. People that hate her are probably causing as much of that traffic as people who support her.
In advertising a six to one ratio is pretty indicative of the level of interest in Sarah. The others qualify as merely anecdotal.
