...I went through the scanner fully cooperating and followed the instructions. Yet I was still taken aside as I exited the machine. No warning bells went off like with the old metal detectors, so I thought it might be random.
As I was asked to move aside, a TSA woman said to me: “Do you know you look like Ron Jeremy (the porn star)? I guess you get that a lot.” I replied that I also got “Gene Simmons,” which I preferred. Needless to say, I replied to them in a polite manner despite the inappropriate banter.
They took me aside and did the pat-down, feeling all over my body as is their habit. Then the TSA officer proceeded to feel my stomach as if I were a pregnant woman. He explained that I had a hard patch on my stomach and they wanted to check it and make sure it was all me. It was painful and disturbing.
I informed the TSA officer that it was the scar from my colon cancer operation that went from my crotch to my sternum. A day later the scar still hurts from the kneading and prodding. I was informed they were checking in order to determine if I had anything sewn into my stomach. I offered to lift my shirt to show the TSA officer the still rather graphic scar, but he refused.
So in just five minutes I was told I looked like a notorious porn star by a TSA female employee and then had my scar examined by a man. I was so very pleased to be reminded of the painful and frightening (I had post-op complications including “dying several times”) experience of a few years ago.
I guess there is a new category of suspect persons to the TSA: “traveling with scars.”
What exactly did all this have to do with stopping terrorists? Why was it necessary to embarrass and humiliate me? What was accomplished by this disgusting display by a power-drunk staff? I have never had this sort of experience before despite my frequent traveling both in the U.S. and abroad.
Surely it would have been better had the dozens of staff on hand been inspecting packages in the holds of airplanes instead of kneading my scar.

Modernity does not necessitate violation of personhood or legal rights. TSA rules are based on ignorance and stupidity, not intelligence and understanding.
Looking for bombs under every pair of underwear is ignorant and stupid. Looking for bombers is intelligent.
We should expect intelligence in a modern society, not neanderthal groping.

TSA is out of control. I have had 50 + surgeries and there is not a place on the body that is without a scar (some from surgery) others from service related injuries. there are plates and screws in many places. TSA refuses to acknowledge the x-ray photos of the plates and screws.
Enough of the pat downs and scanning machines. I have been informed by the airline it would be better for me to travel in a different way.
It is an oddity now suddenly plates and screws mean that the old wounds have to be prodded and probed because of what - you may have planted something that could blow up. Gee some scars are extremely older. yes there may be newer scars - surgery done on October 1 and November 12 (stitches are still in). so the surgeon now is being accussed of planting an explosive in the hand when he in fact was removing shatteed bones. The US Government and the TSA have got to their heads out of Odumbo’s ass, it is plain and simple the Odumbo administrations is NUCKING FUTS.

You underestimate the extreme difficulty in recruiting and supporting, and in the logistics of a suicide terror bomber. They are VERY VERY RARE. In addition the bomber, once one can be found and convinced to carry it off, is under amazing psychological stress, they are always easily identified. An average terror bomber support network runs around 40 persons, meaning the chance of discovery is high.
Because of a idiot’s movie (not idiotic as movie — it was great as a movie, but idiotic as even a passing rendition of real life) you seem to believe that major surgery used on one of these volunteers would be la de dah easy peasy. It is not, it borders on being almost impossible. Impossible at the a level of having meteorite drop through someone’s bedroom ceiling while they are abed.
These backscatter x-ray screenings used on all are ridiculous. They are unlikely to work, and along with the obscene images and sexual assault pat downs they do debase the culture into a submissive state incompatible with being a good citizen, a state that will engender helplessness and defeat.
And decimating another industry with the obvious loss of many more jobs. When enough people just give up flying, the already-fragile airlines will have more and more layoffs. I wonder what a world without any airlines would be like.
Obama just decided to pull back the National Guard from the border, why would he suddenly do that?
Could it be a temper tantrum because Texas and a few other states are now passing laws that Presidential candidates prove their Natural Born Citizen status?
In replying to another poster about TSA, I absolutely agree they are out of control and our rights and freedoms are being attacked. But there are several other issues I am centering my attention upon, I do not want this TSA situation taking my attention away. I feel that its an attempt to create a nationwide diversion.
I will never underestimate the resources and desperation our enemies have for attacking us.
I cannot argue to what logical reasoning would prevent them from performing such long shot odds such as this, because they do not observe the same laws of humanity as we believe in.

I am completely convinced these are NOT about security, but are ALL about training us to be passive and submissive.
Obviously the system is not working and it was never designed to work. It was designed to keep the religion of peace people happy and too bad for the normal people. Too bad there’s no reliable way to determine if a passenger belongs to the religion of peace or is a normal person.

We need to quit looking for objects and start looking for people who do these evil deeds and 3 yr olds and old ladies in wheelchairs are not the people we need to be wasting resources on.

screen for the bomber...not the bomb. The Israelis have had 50 years of success doing exactly that. There is absolutely no sound reason why we cannot do the same here...
As long as we have a sympathetic POTUS around giving fellow Moslems jobs, get out of jail cards and outright favoritism then we will never have the Israeli method.
And yes it DOES work, whether it would work in the US is another story.
